Tonight's line up v Charlton Griffiths, Moore Wilson, Mola, Sinclair, Ward, Sotiriou, Taylor, Martin, Forde, Lindsay Subs Hall, Senior, Sousa, Thomas, Sawyers, Hutchinson, O'Donkor Rovers kick off in tonight's match towards the huge main stand 2nd minute Rovers have a corner which was cleared behind for another corner, which resulted in a 3rd corner from which Taylor a shot which came to nothing 4th minute corner to Charlton put behind by Wilson and was caught by Griffiths Daniel commenting on the line and wondering why Sinclair is on the right on the left, he also mentions we were a goal down at this stage on Saturday, but he didn't mention we had had three corners tonight not sure we had a corner in the first half on Saturday 12th minute1st yellow card of the evening goes to Mola 19th minute Godden scores for Charlton 1 - 0 Rovers as poor defending sees Rovers fail to clear their lines
17th minute Forde puts a decent ball in but no Rovers players attack it 18th minute Sinclair puts a ball through for Sotiriou but it was a little heavy which the GK spilled but Sotiriou had already turned away, another chance gone begging 21st minute a weak free kick from Sinclair results in Wilson Thrashing ( Daniels description) and Charlton survive 22nd minute corner to Charlton Comment from Daniel, build up is good tonight but the end product is non- existent 26th minute Griffiths makes a save from a long shot conceding a corner in making the save which Berry puts just over the bar, Rovers struggling to get out of their own half at present 29th minute free kick conceded by Moore for a late challenge, another good save from Griffiths keeps the at 1 - 0 32nd minute a corner conceded by Taylor is headed over by Docherty Peterborough winning Northampton drawing which now puts Posh above us and Northampton on the same points and same goal difference Josh Edwards scores for Charlton 2 - 0 Rovers apparently we tried to sign Edwards in the Summer but he joined Charlton instead
39th minute Sinclair has Rovers first shot on target which is saved by Maynard-Brewer On the Bristol Live running report on the game it asks for your thought's on the score clicked on the wrong box and predicted a WIN by 2 or more goals, if I am going to be right we are going to have one heck of a fightback in this match Daniel thinks Calderon has a huge job on his hands has he only just realised that 1 minute extra time HT Charlton 2 - 0 Rovers We have only scored 25 goals this season but have conceded 41 goals, so a couple of good CBs a creative MF or 2 and a couple of strikers and about 5 days to get them in, to make space for them Hunt, Brown and Martin we could well do without, Hunt isn't being played Brown wasn't wanted by Taylor or it seems Calderon and Martin isn't scoring goals and if we could get 2 CDs we could get rid of Wilson as well, maybe we could add Mola to that list as well 2nd started Sousa on Mola off 49th minute Sousa getting skinned by Thierry Small whose shot is saved by Griffiths at his near post
Wilson bails Moore out with a cynical challenge for which he gets away with a booking 54th minute a Small free kick easily caught by Griffiths 58th minute Hutchinson, Sawyers and O'Donkor on Ward, Lindsay and Sinclair off Bolton have now retaken the lead against Northampton 65th minute Berry off Anderson on 66th minute O'Donkor driving past his man despite being dragged back ref gave a free kick 67th minute corner Rovers which I assume came to nothing, nothing from Daniel since the 67th minute guess he has fallen asleep to 76th minute Small bring another save from Griffiths 77th minute Thomas on Sotiriou off, Rovers final change 81st minute corner to Rovers 84th minute O'Donkor caught offside
Griffiths couldn't hold the ball after making a save and Small poked the ball wide from close range About 4 minutes plus extra time to salvage a draw 6 minutes extra time to be played 90+4 Taylor has a go from distance and puts narrowly over the bar FT Charlton 2 - 0 Rovers Bolton beat Northampton and posh beat Wigan Rovers down to 19th place The super computer reckons that Rovers will finish in 18th place
We desperately need points tomorrow With Northampton and Burton picking up points today, Northampton a point behind us and Burton 3 points behind us though we have 1 game in hand over Northampton and 2 games in hand over Burton. To make a difference those games have to be won and a win against Peterborough tomorrow would give us a little breathing space as posh have played a game more as well
We desperately need the points but I’m not sure we’ll be getting them. Posh have been scoring loads but conceding even more. They’ve identified this issue and signed a couple of defenders. We can’t score and we can’t defend either - unfortunately, we haven’t done anything yet in the transfer window to resolve these problems.
That was very good. Sure, Posh were bad but you can only beat what’s in front of you. We took our chances really well and look like an improving unit under Calderon. Our home form is going to be vital if we are to pull away from danger so this was really encouraging. Definitely need another striker though before tomorrow night, what with Omochere and O’Donkor both crocked. UTG!
