Sorry, another question. Is your Joe Garner any relation to Simon Garner (absolute legend for Wycombe)?
Oh well fingers crossed I am off to do another night shift, so I will find out the score once I get there...............U'Orns, please do not be a repeat of last years 1st round fiasco......COYH!!!
Oh dear. Could open it up for a second. Where's Beavon when we need him? On his way to Sheff Utd probably.
Text from behind the goal says definite handball. Seems a shame if the game is influenced by a "blind ref". Looks like it's all over. Well done chaps. Good luck in the next round.
That must have been the magic words, 'I'm leaving for work' as soon as I get out the door we score Yay!!!!!!!! Onwards then WEMBLEY, WEMBLEY!!!!!
The real problem with today was that we tried to play the passing game but quite a few failed at it.. Still we won and the 2 new guys plus Almunia looked useful and would improve us a lot. We missed Murray in terms of attacking TBH as Garner and Yeates aren't good enough. It was the usual 1st round league cup for us really..expect we won.
Dull game, pre-season atmosphere, but I'd say that all in all we're off to a reasonable start. Almunia did well when needed, the defenders were surprisingly comfortable with the ball at their feet, and Vydra looks like a prospect. If Geijo lives up to the hype and we can get full seasons out of Vydra and Murray, Wembley might not be too far off the mark. We still need another striker though. Garner actually had a reasonable game, but was his usual prolific self in front of goal. I'm happy Iwelumo scored, because he doesn't always get the credit he deserves, but it was hardly a goal that's going to change Zola's opinion about him.
Your absolute legend scored the goal that took Blackburn through to the 1989 Division Two (now Championship) play-off final at our expense.
was certainly a penalty ron, saw it clear as day from the wycombe end. we should probably have got a resut out of the game and had beaver of been upfront when logan had some of his chances we would be in the second round. ah well, good day out at watford and now we can concentrate on the league
what a dire game. However...boring as it was, there were some good signs for the season. The loanees and Almunia looking good, and Doyley put in a good day's work, till he strangely got replaced by Hodson who didn't do very much at all. Unbelievable though, the negativity in the Rookery. The first game of the season, a league cup game, and already they're writing off the style of play and shouting 'rubbish' at the pitch. quite incredible how some of our fans behave... As for the goal, as a friend of mine said, only Big Chris could chest a ball into the net when it's only about a foot off the ground!
Come on H join me, WEMBLEY, WEMBLEY I know there is a long way to go but onwards and upwards, in the future they will look back and see that we won the game! No I have not got my rose tinted glasses on
