Morning Hornets I was wrong, you beat us fair and square so fair enough and good luck for the rest of the season apart from the game at the Den!
mate I did say pre-season that I thought you'd struggle this season but never thought we be down there as well!
Yep I remember that chat At this stage I agree with you I think we will struggle , must say its very neighbourly of your lot to join us though!
I liked your comments further down the thread NNW Not sure if my logic maths was wrong but I think you said 6 points from each 5 games = 55.2 points (46/5 = 9.2 x 6 = 55.2) therefore only 1.2 points above the mystical 54 point barrier so survival whether comfortable or not. Personaly I believe we will make it and maybe even without any trouble but not always attractivly.
My point is that we have been banging on for the last three years about how the barrier is 52 points (plus goal difference). Where did the extra two points come from?
Must admit I thought my memory was getting dodgier than normal! Thanks NNW! I was sure it was 52 as well!
Only two teams have gone down with 50 + points since the Championship was formed in 04/05, Gillingham with 50 points that season & Leicester with 52 in 07/08. http://www.statto.com/football/stats/england/league-championship/2004-2005/table http://www.statto.com/football/stats/england/league-championship/2007-2008/table
Blimey Steve you are worried arent you? I see you have been doing the homework and research! , you`ll be ok Kenny will get you out of the mire!
No mate only concerned for now but just thought I'd have a look as you two were talking about survival totals. I know mate were be OK as if a **** team like Palace can spend most of last season in the bottom three and still not go down then were be fine - I'd be worried if it was January onwards when you can see the general trend like the last time we went down.
Ah! Well that's my bad memory as I always thought it was 54 so 2 points less then + also young Steve has pointed out that most times 50 will be enough - so we're almost there already!
