Pace, power from Tözsérs free kick. Wicked ball. Watford trying to keep the ball in the Ipswich half.
"You can feel the nerves" Freekick to Ipswich. Deeney heads behind for an Ipswich corner. Almunia punches clear. Watford trying to keep the ball in their half.
Ah well I knew we would lose to you boys today but thankfully not too much damage done! Good luck for the rest of the season!
I'm not sure whether that was down to us or down to Ipswich! They may have simply been knackered from their earlier exertions, but seemed to back off for the final few minutes and let us play the ball around. Or did they just not expect us to play the ball around in their half? I know I didn't.
Just got back. Good solid win which ended up being quite comfortable after we got a two goal cushion. Ipswich's style was a bit, how you say, 'agricultural'.
Excellent result and generally decent performance although of course Alumina save was the key moment. Strong in defence against a physical team (nothing wrong with that BTW) and good in midfield - if only Abdi had been fit all season or Tozser had been here in August. Deeney was his usual self battling with some tough defenders.
I thought you did well 1st half with Williams catching the eye and certainly came out after the break firing. We just nicked those 2 goals and for once saw out the game easily. I think Brighton will get that 6th - got Blackpool/Yeovil at home.
After all the racket they were making in the 'Moon under water' before the game, the whole afternoon was extremely pleasurable. IF IF IF we win both next 2 games, then the other fixtures also help us a bit. bizarrely, it's still on (6th). IF If IF we beat QPR & derby, we will deserve it!
Quite enjoyable game if not a perfect performance. Riera looks a decent footballer...good touch, keeps possession well and scored a cracking goal. Defence looks more alert with Hoban back. I'm not sure how much future there is with Faraoni or Ranegie, both looked at lost yesterday. I'm not a huge Deeney fan but he had an excellent game yesterday, total effort all the way through and not too much complaining...was he being watched by PL scouts? So good to see Abdi back. He quietly goes about his work but great passing ability and instant reading of the game means he makes things happen. Toczer had a very good second half, especially in the spell which turned the game. McGugan seems much as Forest fans predicted...capable of good moments but drifting out of games too often.
