SD thinks that Big Chris got a great reception from the fans.

"We know that we have to play better than that, but the pitch doesn't help with how we could play."

    Just got back........Buzzin :D!

Another great comeback....and for me it was well deserved.

First few minutes we could easily have been up, in fact we should of......Deeney was 1 v 1 and got it wrong. Ipswich were a more physical side first half..and just seemed to be doing a little bit better with the ball.

Make no mistake though.....their goal was 100% our fault. Ball slowly bounces across the goal....Kuszczak doesn't come for it....it bounces for another 2 or 3 seconds and Dickinson has all the time to decide what to do....heads it backwards straight to JET who has an easy finish. Embarrassing......and from then we struggled a bit more to create chances. It was an open game but we didn't look like scoring. Chopra could've doubled their lead but couldn't direct a fast cross across goal...not easy but like Deeney's chance should've gone in.

Second half....first 10 minutes were pretty even, but we eventually got going and everything started coming into place. Players passing was cleaner....we were more creative and Iwelumo was an inspired substitution. Garner did ok, don't get me wrong, but it wasn't working......Iwelumo came on and instantly caused them problems. Won most of his headers, put them under pressure...he is a much improved player recently.

We started creating a lot of chances....Ipswich were sitting back and it was only a matter of time really. Deeney put through and he actually didn't do that well with it...been a bit greedy and shot, but luckily the goalie is out and on the floor....Murray gets a kind ball on his plate to slot into an open goal. After the goal it was all Watford......chance after chance....and the pressure paid as their defender passed it back, Deeney got to it first and although he was selfish in not passing it to Kacaniklic.....he did a great shot from an acute angle high into the corner...the goalie was out and their defender on the line had no chance. Great goal, and great comeback.

After that...Ipswich got back into the game which would be expected......but we didn't sit back as much as them. We still got a lot of the ball and were doing well to create chances on the break and keep it out of danger. 2-1 win :)...and for me it was deserved...we got our tactics right second half and played positively.

Up to 13th.....6 points off the play offs :)!!!!!!! Keep the run going and the only way is up.

Advice from me to Dyche would be to rest Murray. He scored a goal but....he looked tired today and wasn't really at his best.

Did anyone see Gabby's stand up for sports relief? All the audience shots 'from behind'... what an amazing arse on her!

Great summary Moose - bang on. Big Chris was almost on the money today, great finish by Deeney. Think we will have Murray for at least another year, cant really see who else might leave....??

Typical Ipswich performance! We absolutely battered Watford first half and should have been 3 up by half time. All credit to the 1600 Townies who made the trip, we easily outsang the home support who only woke up when they equalized! The truth is we should have won but then contrived to hand the result to Watford on a plate. It just sums us up an average team being beaten by another average team!

Taken 12 points from Ipswich in our last 4 games against each other, If that makes us average then I really dont mind <cheers>

    Having a decent manager helps.

It does look empty these days :(

We were level with them til they scored, then we went very quiet...

they're definitely tall, we needed Iwelumo's height, it made the difference...

Honestly, it was the most shocking miss of teh season!

    Most amazing goal!

Definitely over the last few games the crowd have started realising why we bought him, he completely changed the game today, he made such a huge difference :)

I'd say a draw would have been a fair result, but i'm thrilled with 3 points!

    Amen!

What a great result! After they scored, we really looked like we'd lost our way...but once Iwelumo came on, we picked up the pace, and started keeping the ball more, and the crowd saw the change...it got exciting, and it seemed possible that we'd score. So pleased! Iwelumo just needs to start scoring ...!

    Happy Hornette tonight!

I think that I remember people used to say the same thing about Deeney. ;)

League table if form over previous 6 games continues over next 6 (assuming no change in goal difference)

    1 Southampton p 39 + 6 = 45 GD 37 pt 78 + 16 = 94
    2 Reading p 39 + 6 = 45 GD 22 pt 73 + 13 = 86
    3 West Ham p 38 + 6 = 44 GD 21 pt 69 + 8 = 77
    4 Brighton p 39 + 6 = 45 GD 8 pt 62 + 9 = 71
    5 Middlesbrough p 38 + 6 = 44 GD 3 pt 61 + 8 = 69
    6 Watford p 39 + 6 = 45 GD -9 pt 54 + 14 = 68
    7 Derby p 39 +6 = 45 GD -8 pt 55 + 12 = 67
    8 Blackpool p 39 +6 = 45 GD 10 pt 60 + 5 = 65
    9 Leicester p 38 + 6 = 44 GD = 8 pt 55 + 10 = 65
    10 Cardiff p 38 + 6 = 44 GD 7 pt 59 + 6 = 65
    11 Leeds United p 39 + 6 = 45 GD 2 pt 57 + 8 = 65
    12 Birmingham p 37+ 6 = 43 GD 19 pt 59 + 5 = 64
    13 Hull p 38 +6 = 44 GD 6 pt 58 + 6 = 64

    Dreams are made of this...

Well to quote me "I don't believe it" (my wife often calls me Victor Meldrew);) I had to go out this afternoon and I have just returned to find out we won<cheers> easy. When I left the house they had just scored and by the time I got to Bicester we had just equalised and thought happy days but to just find out on my return we won, I am over the moon. Well done the Golden Boys;)

Dyche did well at half and with his changes which is good to see.

Another excellent comeback against a good side.

Great result and brilliant second half. Dyche got it spot on after the break with his subs. One thing the bothers me though. Am I the only one who thinks that Hogg and Eustace can't play together? To me, they always have their best games when they are not playing together.

The same thing used to be said about Eustace and Jenkins, that they are too similar.

When Hogg went off Eustace dropped back into a more defensive role and Prince took on the attacking one. It seems as if SD is prepared to change things around if something is not working. In commentary before Big Chris came on, Murray was being marked by two defenders all of the time, but afterwards it was taking two to mark the big fella so releasing young Sean more.

It seems more about the way that you try to set the team up and the tactics that you plan beforehand than the individuals.

What can you say..this season is starting become a classic - Leicester, Burnley and now Ipswich....for me the biggest change was bringing on big CI. He destroyed them in the second half...I will preach some more in The Nest!
Cheers Tractor Boys you did your team proud today...

If the post stopped here I would agree with every word, even the jibe about our volume.

But I don't accept that we're an average team. We're a team with a lot of quality, most of it on the young side, with a manager who is getting them to show what they can do in an ever increasing percentage of games.
