Sorry, first time back on here for a week.... For me, Hogg was man of the match, expecially the first half. The Prince was good, but sometimes looked a little lost and off the pace. Kightly you can obviously see the quality, but at times was too predicatble, always trying to cut inside on his right to cross or shot. I htought Nos was caught out of position a lot, being a bit too far up, with the ball going over his head a lot... same for Hodson! I must admit, I was a little surprised at Cardiff's play - especially the long throws, crowding the 6-yard box at corners and a lot of long balls over the top. Not sure if they adapted their tactics for us, but thought we were playing Stoke at times! As for the result, I thought 1-1 was fair, just a shame it came down to an own goal/keeper error to give them the goal and point (again!)
Sorry guys didnt get to the match, but listened to the whole game on the radio, it sounded a pretty onesided affair in the first half, as we had all the chances and should have gone in at least 1 up, in the second half you came into the match grabbed your goal but couldnt hang on, and on a parting to the thread, if Miller had gone down in the last minute instead of being honest and trying to get the ball we probably would have got a penalty, however hard to grasp it all just listenening. To conclude i think we will see this as two points dropped and you will see it as 1 gained.
Ronny I was listening to bbc wales radio whilst watching what was said on here and SSN and it seemed like I was following 3 different games! I know stats say anything you want , but if you look at the ssn and bbc stats, shots on target corners etc , to me (even if we gave you your goal) that a draw was a fair result! also after we scored ,cardiff seemed to lose their way a bit and didnt sound like scoring (by themselves so in true xmas spirit.......)!
I think it was what the police wanted! Didnt want you lot scaring away the boxing day sales bargain hunters
Sorry, but no team deserves to score through pressure on the opposition goal - they have to both create and convert chances, which your lot didn't! Our defence did their job in negating your attack until a moment of aberration near the end gifted you an equaliser. Maybe there were ocassions when you should have scored - but you didn't, just as plenty of other teams have failed to recently. Two points dropped by us IMO.
Bad news buddy think the next set of games are 1pm kick offs! Family club ? we something of that , perhaps even invented it!!
if you create more chances and put pressure on the opposition, yet you draw the game, this means you have dropped 2 points, given that you win games by scoring goals, not by 'negating attacks'. i must admit i thought this was a banker for us, mackay against his old club, he knew about the opposition strengths / weaknesses, i'm disappointed we didnt win and cement our place in the top 6.
Exactly my point - you didn't score any goals, we did that for you after scoring our own (and admittedly missing a few ourselves) - ergo we dropped 2 points. Pressure counts for little if you don't convert it into goals. Strange that you thought this was a banker for you - we thought it was one for us. Up against MM and Cowie, knowing both their strengths and weaknesses, correctly guessing MM's game plan, we're disappointed we didn't win and continue our climb up the table. Still, one point's better than none and unbeaten in eight games now - shouldn't be too annoyed.
you dominated for 20 minutes. After that, it was anyone's game. From what i gather, BBC Wales is rather biased! There were good chances at both ends, the trouble was, we gave you a goal and allowed you back into the game. Shame for us, 2 points lost for sure...you were lucky to get a point, but a draw was probably a fair result as like i said, the match could have gone either way, with both teams wasting chances.
i can't remember the last time we didn't have a 12pm kick off time at home on Boxing day...not sure why but i have to admit, it suits my annual boxing day plans!
actually Swamp, Mackay doesn't know much about his old club since he left us with the task of having to buy 11 new players. He would have known 4 or 5 on the pitch...which really wouldn't have helped him.
love it...yep, Cardiff threw away the game...nothing to do with not being allowed to win it by a strong Watford side...hmm, now where have i heard that before
put it this way, with our recent run of form and being in the top 6 i'd expect to win a game against a team 18th in the table, lets not get greedy though, it was important to get back on track after boro so i'm not complaining
and thats based on 2 years or so of management at a crap team with pennies to spend and players not in the same class as ours? lol.
Well, I guess it's down to opinion, and obvious bias. I was at the game and was disappointed to have lost 2 points! One thing I would add though, is that your normal tactic? The 'Stoke' throw, crowd the 6-yard box on corners, and so much long ball? I just wasn't expecting those tactics at all....
