I actually thought we did Ok today. Cardiff didnt trouble us with shots in the 2nd half until the goal. maybe we should be looking up the table rather than down. Word is that Dyche likes the direct approach and has no time for the "kids". So Massey, Murray Witchelow etc will have to come on lots before he gives them a look in. If Kightly goes in Jan not sure who will fill in - Forsyth maybe? Hogg did Ok and Hodson is better than Doyley.
Forsyth! ol crazy legs crane!! if Sean doesnt use our products from the academy , well that would be wrong on so many fronts! 1) We dip out on a rich vein of talent that would be committed to the cause 2) Kids wont want to join our academy more than anyother if they know they have no chance of a game (they can do that at a heap pf prem teams) 3) If you dont use the kids , then you have to buy in players , out of this years crop loanees NOz and Kites have done well , Beattie (dont know why he is here) Garner jury still out , Big Chris woeful!, crazylegs Forsyth not optimistic , Yeates tricky but slow and selfish! Hogg Seans best signing! Smurf ?? Dicko just grateful for an LB and overall done ok! plus other "development" players ! All things considered not too bad a record! , but when some of the dross is keeping out some of our talent it is annoying! More so if we lose them cheaply in the future which the prem is trying to enforce! Its a difficult tightrope to walk and so far SD has done ok and learnt fast ,but we were so far on the onehand(MM playing the youth) to the other SD basically ignoring the homegrown talent! When maybe a middle ground would be beneficial ! Were halfway in the season so if we do start to use our young lads they shouldnt burn out!
i hate to argue this point with you again Norway, so all i'm going to say Norway, is that he's not ignoring home grown talent, he's allowing them to develop. End of.
We will see , I dont see what more Britt can do to at least earn the right sit on the bench ! Maybe another hatrick or two perhaps, If Kites goes home to Mick then are we going to overlook the young guns again ! We moan at not scoring enough and lack of firepower , only hornet scoring for fun this season is Britt , he can only score against whats infront of him ! give him 45 mins somewhere in Jan !
Yep, and his confidence is growing, but Norway, he's scoring at Wealdstone! lol... Anyway, you know what i think, i know what you think, we all do...let's pleeeease not go over this same old weary ground again!
Prince MOM? I thought he was very poor. Ditto everything Theo has written, exactly my views on the game as well..
Liam Henderson used to score for fun for the reserves and at places like Wealdstone as well! When we played the youngsters last season we had our probably our worst run for years. Time to get off the 'young players' and particularly the Britt bandwagon Norway! We all know how you feel now. Sean sees them week in week out, knows their personalities, characters and development and will know the best time to blood them. First team action if not ready could put him right back, affect his confidence etc. We don;t know that, the coaching staff do.
Ah one thing you prob dont know , Golden true I have a particular interest in Britt for the next couple of seasons ! and as one of his sponsors wish to do well , be it Stones or the Horns! As stated Britt can only help beat whats infront of him ! Liam was more lightweight and no where near as fast as Britt! All of our academy youngsters are well grounded young men as well as football players (thanks to one of the best academies around . he would know that 45mins or so shouldnt kill his confidence , I think the lad could move up then at least give him league football to prove himself futher! Especially with the new EPPP rules coming on line soon , we could soon find our kids going elsewhere if we dont back up our promises of getting gametime! Maybe he could go down to Yeovil with Gavin and Rene ! He went to Wealdstone for a confidence boost ,okay jobs done he has bags of confidence now , time to move him up a level or 2! and see if he can still do it! I`ll have a small wager with you Golden true , injuries aside , I reckon he will do very well in his career and is one of the brightest prospects we have had for a while!
I seem to remember you being doubtful about Liam H , I also seem to remember you being a little more enthusiastic about Britt!, as mentioned before scoring goals for the stones aint much in the scheme of things , so let him move up see if can do it for maybe Yeovil! that being if you dont want to take a punt , maybe 45 mins in a cup game would give us more of a clue!
no, it was the youth thing i was agreeing with. Liam Henderson is not a good player, and i'm glad we won't be seeing him in yellow. Britt will be excellent, but not yet, he's not ready.
Perhaps the best way is a mixture of older players for experience and younger ones for taking chances. Last year was perhaps too much of the younger footballers and this season the opposite.
If it weren't for Prince's goal on Boxing Day and the upcoming transfer window, I'd be calling quite loudly for Murray to start a couple of games. I don't think he's ready to be a first team regular, but a few games will stand him in good stead, and a few weeks out of the picture worked a treat for Prince earlier in the season.
