Get a grip H. Go on a long walk and think that you are doing good instead of lining his pocket. Ok, I admit I don't care too much for the man.
lol...i never would have believed it! ..i don't think anyone does..but there are many things we buy or do that lines a hated man's pockets. That's life. You just have to look at football to know that!
Yeah he is the assistant manager of Brighton too. I remember him from his days at Spurs where he used to kick chunks out of attacking opponents! According to wiki he has played six games in the last two years. Still a good result for you guys tonight. I really rate Deeney, but he seems to have been quiet recently, how is he coming along at your club? Good luck for the rest of the season .
We rate Deeney too. He doesn't get given the chances he deserves, but he works really hard, and has been unlucky not to score far more than he does. Very happy for him that he got his goal tonight ..well deserved. Thank you, and you
I wasn't one of them, but if ironic cheers at a substitution were the main way we expressed dissatisfaction with a player's performance/a manager's perseverance with him, I'd be relatively happy. Forsyth has been frustrating, and in principle there's nothing wrong with occasionally letting him know it. The big problem is not doing enough to get behind the lads who are actually on the pitch. Or worse, getting on individual players' backs while they're playing. Collectively we are guilty of these things far too often.
Last night was the first game I had attended since Crystal Palace. We looked much better. We just looked so much more mobile, one-touch passing our way out of trouble. Some moments of play were indeed very good. Buaben and Hogg seem like a very good pairing in the centre of midfield, and also both had very good games. Mariappa was, as usual, almost faultless. He plays like a seasoned professional, and it is easy to forget he is still only 25 (child-like for a CB). He has got to be the most consistent player I have seen at Watford for a long time. Thanks to Mariappa and Nosworthy's display, we (Loach) got a clean sheet! Really wasn't keen on the sarcastic cheers when Forsyth went off. I actually thought he had a pretty good game. Although being quite slow, frightened of a challenge and often wayward with his defensive positions, I do think he can provide something positive. Another player who seems to get a great deal of unnecessary criticism, Iwelumo, also had a good game.
Enjoyed last night's game and we got what we deserved. How poor were Brighton in the first half? I think the reaction to Yeates coming off was more disbelief. Forsythe was very poor and I would have liked to have seen Yeates and Kightly on the pitch together. Dyshe persists with Forsythe because of that long diagonal ball for him to win the header, but we don't get the knock-downs when he does win the header...so what's the point. I would keep the same starting 11 withthe exception of Kightly in for Forsythe. And how good was Hodson's crossing last night!!! We should have won by more and would have done if one of those early chances had gone in. H...switch to Virgin. The Tivo is amazing!!!
Good to see you that you see a big improvement from palace to now BBW ,lets hope it keeps improving ,as it will need to against the boys from the riverside!
It is funny how with football individuals views can differ so much. I thought Forsyth and Yeates were poor last night, but believe Forsyth will come good in time. But I also thought Iwelumo was poor. Better, but still poor. Yes he wins a few headers and tries to bring others into play, but is very immobile, does not run the channels, and too many attacks broke down because he gave away unnecessary free kicks. I would still like to see Deeney given a few games up top. He works hard and is good in the air. I also am keen to see how Beattie will do there. I know he got a lot of negative comments before he has even kicked a ball for Watford, as did Nosworthy, but the reports I have read are that he is a hard working forward and we miss that with big Chris. However, I also believe there are a lot of positives from the last two games. The balance/shape of the team looks much better with the Prince. I don't think it is just down to him personally, but also having that sort of player. Someone who makes late runs into attacking positions, and plays in a more advanced midfield role. I like Eustace, Hogg and Jenkins as individual players, but the team does not seem to have that balance when any pairing of those three plays. I also have been very impressed with Nosworthy in the past two games. From what I have seen of Mirfin I have great concerns, but Nosworthy I think would be pressuring Marriappa and Tiny for a place if all were fit. When looking at the table now, and consider the 85th minute goal at Burnely, 93rd minute at Hull, the defensive cock-up at home to Forest and the travesty of the loss at home to Derby, you can see just what a fine line there is, and how we could easily have been sitting in top half now (although I still believe it will be a long hard season!)
I completely agree, the jeering was pathetic..and i didn't think Forsyth was bad. In fact, i didn't think Yeates had a great game, though he wasn't noteworthy. I think he just tires. And yes Bloother, Hodson's crosses were beautiful to behold! And Bloother? i'll look into Virgin
Forsyth looks like the kind of player who polarises opinions. He obviously has talent, but his languid style and body language , plus his tendency to run off-side, irritates quite a lot of fans. He does remind me of Priskin--he even looks like him--who also tended to polarise opinion before he did us the great favour of getting himself sold for a lot of money. Might Forsyth do the same? In the meantime,he is worth persisting with, but why not play Kightly and Yeates together for the few games Kightly is available--maximise the creativity?
I agree Roger68. I think Forsyth will improve though. A lot of young players who have moved geographically and up a level have struggled in their first season, for example McGinn, Buckley, Graham (compared to 2nd season), Cowie, and on the old 606 board they all had negative comments about them in their first season. I can see the same happening with Forsyth, but he may need periods out of the team during that process. Yeates though is older, and has experience at this level, so I can't see him improving. I can see both players being in and out of the team this season, but I believe Forsyth will be the better player in the future.
Agreed Roger He does offer more creativity and quality , so whilst he is around , we may as well use it!
