I am not sure if this has been forced on Malky with both Jenkins and Whichelow doubtful, or if a bit more "blooding" is going on. The Watford Observer understands scholars Gavin Massey and Sean Murray will be involved with the first team in the coming days and one of the pair should be included on the bench against Barnsley. Massey has been on loan with non-league Wealdstone but will be recalled for the weekend.
I think thats good news and MM is doing exactly the right thing,we have nothing to play for but pride, and shop window sales!!! so by all means lets blood some more kids with first team experience!
I'd be shocked if Murray does not play at least once in the next four games. Based on the recall, I'd be very surprised if Massey doesn't. Lee Hodson might get a week or two's break, taking the longer term view of possible international call-ups and that as things stand he'll be a strong bet for a place in the starting eleven come the first week of August. Would expect both Bennett and Thompson to get minutes on the pitch. I'm sure giving Isaac or Bond playing time is in the back of the manager's mind, but I think there are too many more experienced players ahead of them who need playing time for that to be a realistic prospect.
Fair shout ! although I think Isaac and Bond should get 45 mins somewhere ,more to reward their efforts this season and to give them a sniff of 1st team pay, just to keep interested and keen Massey and Murray supposedly have massive potential, bring them on lets have a look ,cant do any harm!and may have a lot of benefit!
Unless Loach is leaving in the Summer then I don't think there's any urgency to rush Bond into the team. Gilmartin surely isn't a long term replacement....and Loach is still young so it's not like we lose anything giving him more experience. If Massey isn't banging them in for Wealdstone (which I'm pretty sure he isn't) then obviously he needs more time at lower level. We still need to let Deeney and Sordell get more experience so I don't think there's an urgency to bring Massey in either. With injuries in the midfield and the talent Murray is showing, I'd think he would get a run out....he might just feature in some capacity for the side next season.
Moose, Massey has had 5 games for the stones and scored a couple! I dont think they are exactly over using him! He was prolific with our reserves, then again so was Hendo! If we see the Deeney /sordell partnership in the last few games ,then thats the last hope of DG hanging around gone!
I can't see Graham being rested unless he's injured. Even if he is to leave (which is uncertain), the more goals he scores.....the more he's worth!
I was meaning DG getting a half ,then sordell getting a half ,or DG one game ,Troy the next , but time will tell, I am probably wrong as MM does like to go on the conservative side! but we do now have an extended pre season ,so in my book ,we should start trying things and panning for next season ,which sadly wont include DG!
If we win we're 5 points off 6th with a better goal difference. Outside shot at the play offs then......assuming we win all ours and Forest/Leeds only manage 1 win, 1 draw and 1 loss at best.
Moose dont forget hull and burnley they are the only other realstic contenders! Millwall if they beat preston today as a real long shot! We just are not there mate! Has been a really good season though!
Correct Norway - let's forget the play offs - they are gone and just enjoy the game - a thumping home victory will give the fans a good Easter
In a thread on 606, I said that I thought that DG would get a hat-trick this season - only 4 games left to prove me right. Would be great if he did it at the Vic, so only 2 games left. In the last 5 games, we've conceded 2 goals in each of them. I think if we can stop that, even if we concede 1, we'll win. Need to score 6 to become leading scorers in the division again, if Cardiff don't put 5 past QPHa.
Todays the day to play a really agressive forward line. Deeney, Sordell, Graham. See how it goes and Massey should get a lookin to with Weiman there if needed for a result. It is the time to play around with formations in the match environment and go out there and enjoy the game, no pressure.
me too...but i can't see Malky letting today being a damp squib, i think he'll keep going til that darn fat lady starts singing!
Watford: Loach; Hodson, Mariappa, Taylor, Doyley; Eustace; Deeney, Mingoia, Cowie; Graham, Sordell. Subs: Gilmartin, Bennett, Weimann, Massey, Thompson, Buckley, Drinkwater. Barnsley: Steele; Trippier, Shackell, Foster, Hill; Haynes, Doyle, Mellis, Butterfield; Harewood, Gray. Subs: Hassell, McEveley, O'Brien, Preece, Arismendi, Noble-Lazarus, Clark.
Hornet Player is up and running. HH missed a last minute sitter for QPR. Tommy taken off second half. Neither really looks like a premier player anymore.
Go Pierro Mingoia that does seem quite attack minded! suppose Drinkwater will replace Mingoia at half time !Hope not though!
