Going back as far as Glenn Roeder (a run that will be at least 20 years by the time Dyche leaves) every ex-Watford manager has either taken Watford to the Premier League, previously/subsequently managed in the Premier League, or gone on to manage another team to a better finish than Watford achieved during his tenure. In other words, over that 20 years, we have a 100% record of giving managers who haven't had opportunities a realistic shot at glory. Whether they made it into something or not was down to their ability. We may not like some of the men we've given those opportunities to, but it's a record to be proud of.
Evening all. Im back now. Made it home through the snow and ice. I think we lacked the quality up front and were lucky that Eustace was there to chip in with a brace. However we cannot rely on him for our goals. But the pundits did question who would score when DG, DC and WB left, but Marv stepped up and Eustace chipped in then too. He has a habit of doing it! My biggest concern is, as i pointed out on 3 Counties in my text, the lack of a clean sheet. The VR end was buzzing compared to usual, thanks to me and my whistle. According to Dyche in the program they are sticking with Alex in training. But i am calling him Kacaniklic Those stats dont look that bad for the next 3 matches. Forrest, Palarse and Leicester are all below us. 6-9 points maybe??
At the game yesterday there was some cretin that when the teams were announced booed both Scott Loach and big Chris Iwelumo. It does not matter that you might not like some players but to boo your own team These idiots should be paraded round the ground and everyone else can shout abuse at them
What a great idea Al. With or without a loo seat round their necks? I have been reading elsewhere that the new tannoy system failed to work yesterday. Hope Baz kept the receipt.
A new slant on half time entertainment - name and shame parade . Mind you, with the number of plonkers I heard hurling abuse the last time I was at The Vic, half time would have to be extended by quite a few minutes.
A good blog here about our match seen through the eyes of a non Watford fan. http://thedaggersscale.blogspot.com/2012/02/watford-2-1-barnsley-away-from-daggers.html
Thats a very good read OFH. Its always nice to get feed back from visitors. I dont think i have heard such praise for the stadium ever!!
