Thanks for the honest and measured comments lads ... I thought you showed lots to be optimistic about ... our secret is our pressing game and we just didn't let your midfield (or defence) settle ,,, we have a pack of midgets (Vardy, Okazaki and Kante) who just won't stop harassing plus we are very good on the counter ... I think you have a good deal of quality in your midfield, if they are allowed to settle and play ... and I think you'll be fine this season ... That big lump you brought on in the second half will certainly ruffle some Prem defenders feathers ... actually I'm doing him a disservice because his touch for his goal was quite subtle and he looks a decent player all round ... Good luck for the rest of the season ... with the one exception mind
I should say I'm not blaming Whits for the loss today, I just feel we always look too vulnerable down his side. It's an issue I've had with him pretty much since we got him. A great attacking out let when we're on top but doesn't have the pace or positional awareness to protect against counter attacks.
Well, we're still 13th and very interesting to see some of the teams that are below us. As others have said I'm sure AN and the team will learn from this defeat and we were desperately unlucky not to snatch an equaliser in the closing stages. Edit - I feel the report on the BBC website doesn't do our performance justice and we're 4th on MotD
I guess the worrying thing about the result is that AN specifically said that he set us up to deal with a counter-attacking team, and we conspicuously failed to do so. Hopefully it can just be marked down as an off-day. A good performance against Newcastle will allay my worries somewhat.
I'm not sure that any of the team had a particularly good game and not sure if that was down to how well Leicester nullified us, or just a 'bad day at the office'. Roll on next Sunday!!!! Edit - just seen that both the Daily Fail and EDP give 2 of the highest player ratings to subs - Redmond and Mbokani!!!!! Let's hope AN takes note!!!!
I thought our defence had their best game of the season (yes, it's been that bad!) and the inclusion of Simpson and Fuchs has made us that bit more solid. Wes and Huth were both poor though, as they have been all season. Kante had Hoolahan in his back pocket and Drinkwater dictated the speed of the game until about the last 25 minutes when you were piling on the pressure. Vardy had one of his better games and Okazaki put one hell of a shift in. Schlupp didnt look completely lost (due to him playing in his natural position) but Albrighton was very, very quiet (uncharacteristically). I don't think you've got much to worry about. I think we've already played 3 teams worse than yourselves.
