We just have to win this game...... if we don't and the unthinkable happens next week - they will go above us.
Hopefully we will be better in the second half .... a tendency. I know I have slated Bony a couple of times, please prove me wrong dear Bony .... guessing he is getting playtime in the second half.
Thank fcuk that half is over, maybe we can do something second half, the way we are playing I very much doubt it!!
You may not like Ham's tactics but they're working and they're the better side. We're toothless in attack, apart from Chico being VERY unlucky not to score, and they look more clinical on the break. Possession in front of Vorm is meaningless. Even Taylor's knocking long balls! Dyer gets into the third, they put two defenders on him and he either knocks it back or it goes out for a throw, not even a sniff of a cross.
Funny story, when I checked my mailbox today I found out that the person living in the flat below mine's name is Bony. It's a sign! Bony is gonna score in 2nd half. Mark my words.
anoher poor 1s half - last hope we up the tempo like we did against Sunderland but West Ham look like a different proposition. Pozuelo + Hernandez on for the 2nd
very lucky to go in all square, our set piece defending is all over the place. Bony for Vasquez and pozuelo or pablo for routs
On a positive point. In games like this (and v Sunderland) in previous seasons we would be losing at half time.
They are working harder than us and picking up the loose stuff in midfield. West Ham, as usual, are playing for the set piece and the way things have gone they look likely to get one. That said, their keeper made a point blank save that he knew nothing about. The experiment with Alvaro isn't working so far. Not all his fault because the service into him was as crap as it's been for Bony. Our midfield just don't create enough and, as has been pointed out, their passing and ball retention has gone several steps back this season. Not good enough by a long way and we look a distinctly vulnerable team. Very average in fact. For me, Bony should have started. Hammers are a physical team and we need Bony in there muscling away and softening them up. He'd also be pretty useful in helping defend the set pieces we keep giving away. Carry on like that and we will concede because Vorm is getting nowhere near the crosses and our centre backs aren't as good as the West Ham lads in the air. Not good news that Jarvis is on either because he can cross a good ball. As usual, we need far more energy and movement. We are too easy to mark and too slow with our passing - part of the reason for that is because the man on the ball has few options in front of him, so we have to look for a sideways or backward pass. Not good news for next week and I doubt that Cardiff, with a similar game, are the least bit worried about us. In fact, they might well be fancying their chances.
