I don't think that Vorm was to blame for any of the goals, yes he might not have been at his peak today, but I don't see what he could have done to save those goals, clearly we are losing our defensive shape without Williams in there, and that was evident from previous games, and against St Gallen we rode our luck somewhat, anyway Williams will be back for the next game, but Laudrup needs to sort our front line out, as it's not firing on all cylinders!.........<ok>

Feed the Bony, and he will score!.............<cheers>

This was always going to be a very hard game against one of the form teams in the division, so I'm not surprised we didn't get anything from it. It is a bit concerning that we've only got 7 points so far, but let's think about who we've lost to:

    United Home
    Spurs Away
    Arsenal Home
    Southampton Away

All very tough fixtures...we should've done better against United but the other three results haven't been surprising, and in all honesty we were very unlucky against Spurs. More importantly we've beaten both West Brom and Palace away, the sort of game we expect to get something from. And the Liverpool draw was a good result against a form team.

Let's stay realistic and not throw our toys out of the pram because of the slow start...when you take into acount the Europa League games, I think we've done alright. Next up is Sunderland home which we should be looking at winning for sure, and then we have West Ham at home and that's also a very winnable game. Then comes the derby!

Absolutely Knackered, Routledge could have given him more ball first half, from what I could see, Dyer had a good game, but his final ball still needs improving, though cannot fault his effort today, and very unlucky with the woodwork too!..............<ok>

Good to see you back from Davey Jones' locker!.............<cheers>

jenthesaints: The point NJ makes is valid. In recent times your team doesn't have to be that good to score against us because we have been gift-wrapping goals. Southampton were not the better team today but they won because of two presents and a failure to put our chances away. That's the way it goes.

    DPJ: <cheers>

Saw a nice big 3M shark on our final day. Happy days. :)

I got no problem with Southampton thinking they were the better team today, if that is what you think that's fine . My view is that you were gifted chances by our crap defending, you took them well and that was that, well done on the win, it was however a game (apart from the first 20 mins)where we played the football and you didn't ,id rather you played all the football and we took the points but I guess that's how it goes sometimes !! <cheers>

Well I guess if you're happy with going ahead then effectively putting 10 men behind the ball every time then knock yourself out. It's bound to work sometimes. <ok>

If Gary Neville, one of the most experienced British footballers in European football, says that Man U were always a few percent below par after a European match then that is good enough for me. We had a real battle on Thursday night at the Liberty and I doubt if Michu felt 100% after 7 stiches to the head and losing quite a bit of blood.

These things count and it was obvious in the first twenty minutes we weren't at the races. If we go to places like Southampton and our game dips we will get beaten - especially if we don't take our chances.

Thought Michu had a poor game to be honest, by his standards.

Euro games are bound to have an effect but I do think that commentators do tend to over-exaggerate it. Almost a cliche.

Laudrup has said today that fitness wasn't an issue in the game and that even though we had the better of the match we lost. As he says, that's the way it goes sometimes.

The centre of our defence was non existent, Michu and Routledge both had stinkers, Shelvey was more interested in showing off his long passes than actually making sure he found a Swans player and our general delivery into the box was complete crap.

Dyer is the only player who can be proud of his effort today. Everyone else needs to reflect on an average display to a side that player for player we should have swatted aside.

Only good thing about today is its better to lose against a team above thats probably going to stay up come seasons end than to lose against those around and below us.

The worry for me is how we have done against the 'bigger' teams.
Southampton beat Liverpool - we drew.
West Brom drew with Arsenal - we lost.
West Ham beat Spurs - we lost.
West Brom beat Man Utd - we lost.
Hell even Cardiff beat Man City.

In the past few seasons we've managed to raise our game against the big teams but we've struggled so far this season.
The teams around us are picking up points in games they wouldn't expect to - we re not.

I don't give a **** what Gary Neville says, I listen to what our manager says, and he said that fitness wasn't an issue today, so you listen to Neville and I'll listen to Laudrup <ok>
