No contradiction, simply that by the time he got around to attempting the shot, he was closed down, Shelvey was screaming for the ball, and was on side from what I could see! Bony really has to improve on his first touch, and start getting up to speed.............
Can't criticise Bony - he came on late and was expected to change the game whilst Michu, instead of going into the hole behind was taken off. Maybe that wouldn't happen if we were at home I don't know. So much for Bony M. As a result we created what we'd done all game - jack ****. If the Bony shot had gone in (and it wasn't far off) it would have been so different. He almost certainly thought Shelvey was offside and I can understand why. Norwich looked a poor team but we were only marginally better. Shelvey was too deep and didn't/ couldn't influence the game and Michu was virtually invisible. The game changed when Dyer came off. Hope he's OK. One last sideswipe - Amat. Kids are taught at a young age not to turn their back on a shot. He turned AND ducked and was solely responsible for the goal so well done for that. We'd have taken a point beforehand so we should be grateful for that I suppose. How the **** we are top half god only knows.
I never said that did i !!! I said there are times in the match where we unnecessarily pass the ball when a more direct approach would be to either take a shot on goal or at least put the ball into a dangerous area like the box. and my second point was the back passing is far too much and the more you keep passing back the more chance we will lose the ball as we have seen all to often. I accept that sometimes there is no other option other than to pass the ball backwards but most of the time we seem to do it unnecessarily..
Good point gained rather than 3 points dropped , indifferent at times with some sloppy defending but overall a better performance than of late .Considering the 8 changes made from Thursday it shows the squad can adapt to major changes reasonably well , A point is not the end of the world . Time for a rest now and Good Luck to little Nathan , you'll be missed .
I'm sure there are times in the game where to dictate the pace of the game or to ensure that everyone is in their positions means that to keep pocession is more important than lumping in forward because otherwise you're on the back foot defending .
yes poor nathan will be missed. i hope he is not out for the rest of the season but my feeling is that he will be...I hope we have some new players targeted for next month as i think we are going to need them for the second half of the season. Michu has lost his way this season and could actually go if a reasonable offer is made as he looks not to be enjoying his football as much as last season....A couple of tall defenders wont go amiss either...
Michu's' just come back into the side after a month out , he's rusty so give him a bit of time , 3 games in 7 days and the travelling would have affected the squad so a good point gained , Perhaps the newspapers will start throwing names about e.g. Tom Ince or Saha as a loan replacement for Nathan , hopefully it's not a break as he's probably been the most consistent recently. One long term affect if it is a break is he could lose a bit of pace which would be gutting for the lad .
Michu has not looked as good all season though and just because he has just come back is no excuse for his lackluster play. Rangel have just come back also and even though he was rusty he still put his heart and soul into the game..
Agreed. Michu will take some games to get up to speed and, let's face it, our service into him was appalling. Suarez and Aguero would struggle with our quality of service, make no mistake!! OK, they create their own chances but so they should given the amount of money they cost, their wages and the confidence they have in the quality players around them. And let's not forget either that they are dedicated strikers, so it's worth repeating again that Michu HATES the front role and regards himself as an AM. Would Ash fancy playing at RB? No he would not!! Put Michu in any of the top six teams and he would be a huge success. This is no doubt why he's giving indications that he wants out. He's fed up playing a bit part, out of position, and he knows that with every game, his chances of a World Cup place with Spain are rapidly diminishing.
That's why I cannot understand the Bony M combo not starting. Either Laudrup feels that isn't necessary away from home or maybe he has little faith that the combo is working. Personally I think it will work if given the chance.
These guys just don't come back straight from the treatment room they start training first to get match fit and are not allowed to play until they reach a certain level, So it a myth that they need more games because if they are good enough to be included they are ready..Brian Clough would not say such rubbish, If he picked you then you should produce the goods as the game and the players are the same..Nobody needs the excuse of needing to play a few games after injury. all that is done in training....
So you believe that Michu , Bony or Rangel are match fit ?, you cannot replicate real game time during training , even the kids in the Academy are told to ease off. Clough belonged in a different era and what may have been correct then isn't the case now,the game has moved on apace
This is true. Competitive game time brings match fitness. It'll be a couple of weeks before Bony, Mich and Rangel are up to speed imo. I would love to see the Bony / Michu combination be given another chance though. Potentially it coud be devastating.
Laudrup thought so You dont forget how to play football you know.. This is our problem.. Stats Norwich..........Swansea 16......Total Shots.....10 3....Shots on Target....2 67%..Pass Success..84% 63%.Aerial Success.39% 9.........Dribbles..........6 18......Tackles..........23 37%....Possession....63%
Only shows each team was equally poor. They are particularly bad stats for the home team imo. But I agree we didn't create nearly enough to deserve the three points.
God is that all you can see... thank god your not the manager. I can see plenty wrong and these stats are replicated in most of our games this season..
Dai, I never said I should be the manager. I never said I could do a better job than him. I leave that to others. What I see is a set of stats that showed we bossed possession away from home but didn't create enough. I also see the home team stats that suggest they should have done better. 37% possession with three shots on target in front of your home crowd is pretty rank. Not sure what point you're making because it looks as if we agree. There is no need to be so unpleasant about it.
Out of interest ,have you ever actually kicked a ball in a proper game , never mind at what level ? if so then you would know what I posted was correct ,its not the case of how to kick a ball but all the other variables which need to be factored in.
