I would be suprised Dragon i have to say, but its not beyond the realms of possibility, thing is though that if they played like that the Jack army would sniff it out i reckon, and bang goes the "legend " status and long term job options with the club. Gary Monks Pamphlet (or book,as some have called it) does give us an insight as to how he has faced new managers in the past, Laudrup can use this game to explore his options but i get the feeling he has already made his mind up on who he wants to keep around, his selection will be intresting
I think ML is passonate about winning, being competitive and the League Cup / Carling Cup / Tea Cup (whatever) is something he would like to get to the next round on. I don't think he's going to put a team on the field that he knows is compromised - either by attitude or ability.
Whoever plays will give 100% whether its against an ex manager or not.....They will have a drink with him win or lose after the match and thats right and proper. all the ex players know they owe Brendan for what he did for them..
I hope the Swans can go out feeling there is no pressure, they are the underdogs and should just enjoy it. My main concern will be for no injuries or suspensions coming from the game.
Our side is 99% second string. Shame really could of been good experience for some of the younger 1st team pplayers and there so young they can handle the number of games.
Here you are Yankee! http://www.thefirstrow.eu/watch/150033/2/watch-liverpool-fc-vs-swansea-city-fc.html
Soft goal, but well taken. All from that useless sack of **** that is Joe Cole not getting back to block shots on the edge of the box. Ki should never have got his shot away. Pleased so far with Jack Robinson for us.
"Soft" therefore means that the Liverpool team stood around like ducking ornaments while our stud Chico soared above them all like a Charlo clone and headed home. We ended the half with more posession, more shots, more shotson target and a lead .... thought we were playing away at the awesome Anfield, seems to me like a stroll at home.
Dead right Dragon, we need to start the next half with tempo and purpose ..... Cause you know they will .... Full of Blarney!
TBH guys ive seen enough in the first 45mins to see the difference between Brenden and Laudrup, that being, laudrup picks/buys players that can pick a pass and move the ball quickly where Brenden likes to keep movingnthe ball wide and working it across, very last season i might add ! Liverpool are not out of this of course but its clear to see now, we would have really struggled with brendens plan A approach this season we dont have a surez or gerrard to score the odd screamer out of nowhere and there is no way in a million years we would have signed Michu, pablo, chico,Ki,JDG without an esteemed manager like Laudrup. I have been looking forward to watching both football styles and its remarkable how different they are in the final 3rd, our wingers moving around and creating space is sometimes leaving the whole middle of the park to run into, its a tactical master class from Laudrup and im afraid Brenden has been found wanting ..once again. Considering he knows alot of our players inside out he hasnt got his boys to work on our weaknesses, strange one that. Intresting second half coming up
Evening lads, congratulations on tonight. I felt you fully deserved to go through and well done on going through. Michu was again excellent and is an absolute bargain at £2M. Thanks to all the Swansea fans who came over to my thread to post their views and good luck in the League Cup and for the rest of the season. (Apart from the games in which we play each other! )
