Well lads, we didn't get the point I was hoping for. It was a pretty bad game to be honest with practically zero clear-cut chances for either side. Even County's goal looked like the guy wasn't actually heading for goal but just trying to put it back in the danger area. Ah well, them's the breaks I guess. We've got Reading on Sunday and that's simply a must win. We need some cu*t to step up to the plate and start scoring. Simple as. Anyway, you lads don't seem to be playing til tomorrow week? Tough game at Forest. Would you take a point now if offered?
It depends if either you or Burnley fail to win then I would be happy with a point at Forest If you both win then I would want a win. It will be a tough game either way at Forest for us but we owe them one for them winning at our place Reading have been very good recently but they got done over by Wednesday at the weekend so they will want to prove a point
It's a funny old league! A defeat is not good for you though, brings Derby right in to the mix for an automatic spot. Hopefully you lot can keep taking points off eachother, and we can just sit comfortably in 1st place without a care in the world (Oh what it is to dream...) Yep away at Forest next. Tough game, never fancy our chances against Forest (must be the pessimist in me...), but we won 3-2 at their place last season (how could anyone forget!?), so here's hoping Tough game again for you. Are you home or away? And it's on TV, right?
From your match day thread I got the impression that it was not a particularly good game and that most of you were not too chuffed with the overall performance or tactics ... Personally, I'd take a point at Forest because that's then another two they can't make up ... obviously a difficult one for us but the onus is on them to come out and beat us ... that will, i believe, suit us far better than tactics like Watford had of 'stifle and contain' ... which certainly worked up to a point ...
I really hope Derby get 2nd and Forest win the play offs along with us taking the league Next season all 3 clubs back in the prem. Beautiful
Certainly be good for us if Forest and Derby got promoted along with ourselves. Derby could try and beat their record in the Prem. Forest would spend **** loads. Right now I would snatch your hand off for a point at Forest.
I was saying yesterday that I fancied all 3 of the East Midlands teams to go up, was somewhat surprised with it, although I will probably be feeling less like it over the next week, until after we play Forest. It would be great for our region, which is always somewhat ignored by the media in footballing circles, at least. I was supporting Derby yesterday (easy to do I guess when we've already taken maximum 6 points off them), no offence to our visiting QPR fans.
I'm surprised you want Forest and Derby up with you boys. I thought you'd want your local rivals to get stuffed? That's right Jackson, Sunday home game on TV. A must winner for me. It'd be great if Burnley and Forest slipped up tonight at Bolton and Huddersfield respectively. Tell me, after Billy Davies' usual ranting against his Chairman during the window, did he end up actually bringing anyone in?
Ideal would be us all to go up then we take 6 points off them both and they get demoted. One can only dream!
If we do go up, and Forest and Direby dont, then the nearest we will get to a derby game would be Villa or Stoke, and that just aint a derby.
It's a bit different. We enjoy our encounters as they're very close run whereas your rivalries are all much bigger and better clubs like Chelsea and Fulham which more often than not result in a tonking. I love our games with Forest and Derby. I would much rather be in the same league playing against them rather than be in a higher league playing games against teams I care little for. Our games are usually very closely run and the banter at work is what keeps us going.
Leicestershire is such a large county, that to some LCFC fans, Derby would be the biggest game of the season. To others, Forest would be. Personally, where I live, Coventry is the biggest local rival but there is little chance we will ever play them again. Then there is Peterboro who consider us to be a major rival, but none of us give a monkeys about. As AKCJ says, London is a different issue altogether.
Not a rival in terms of location, bu they were our closest challenge to the title in our League One season, and don't like us for some reason!
Hmmm .... hope you are not studying Geography Jack from Leicester to approx: Cov 30 miles Birmingham 45 miles Derby 32 miles Nottingham 34 miles Milton Keynes 50 miles Northampton 37 miles Peterborough 36 miles
Not many anglian teams that are high up the league, theirs Norwich/Ipswich rivalry and Peterborough are kind of in-between us and those 2. Prettys sure Northampton and Peterborough could have a good rivalry, but the cobblers need to get their arses in gear and get promoted a couple of leagues.
Ah sorry yes, I know what you mean. We built up a non-local rivalry with Cardiff because for a number of seasons we found ourselves competing for the same prizes in the same leagues. So who would traditionally be THE biggest rivals for the Foxes? Derby County?
Depends on where you live but the majority consider Forest to be the biggest rivals. Leicester know that the Derby-Forest rivalry stands alone as the biggest, and they try to tell us that they don't care for us. But they do.
