Watford looked very shabby today. Probably the second worst team we've played this season behind Cov.
That surprises me, I'm usually like that after a defeat! I would definitely keep the same 11 on Saturday, I actually thought Abe was our standout midfielder. We don't really have a LM, or a RM, we play a formation that doesn't have width and we must accept that rather than trying to make central midfielders into wide players. For what it's worth I don't think a lack of width hindered us tonight at all, we simply took it easy in the second half, if we had kept the same pressure as the first, I'm in no doubt it would have been 4-0 again. The width thing is a problem against better opposition.
As you say against better opposition, Millwall are in a false position? maybe we will see this on Saturday?
Really? I thought Abe was our weak link. Fernandes should replace him. I was very, very impressed with Johnson and Wellens.
It's funny because apparently that's what everyone was saying on the radio, I had a bit of a different view. I thought Johnson and Wellens were playing it simple for the most part and Abe was surprisingly creative in terms of involvement in the build up play. A good cross for the 2nd in particular. I thought King was a lot better than he was at Birmingham.
Well I don't think it's possible for them to be worse than Watford, we'll surely be tested more. The next 2 away games will be interesting, we'll need to play much better than in recent away games to get something at West Ham whereas Burnley is a game we should probably win.
Then you were clearly only there for the 2nd half after the game was already won because I was also there and our 1st half display was truly awesome
WFC roving reporter back from the game: U'Orns Leicester fans you are not that good, really if you were that good you should have tonked, you didn't. If we had taken our chances in the second half you would not be gloating at all! Also your ground has no soul, more atmosphere in a lead balloon
I agree you played well in the first half, then rested on your laurels, thinking that you could score at will but you didn't!!! Typical Sven team, let's pass it into the net. Your first goal was well made and well taken, your second goal was only allowed because our defence were looking at each other and Beckford rose above them and took his chance, fair play to him!
It's one of those stadiums like all the other new ones...they're all the same...pretty dull with no character. And the away fans sit in that corner...weird position to be honest. Good to know the result should have been far worse if they'd played better. Thanks Roving Reporter
I can take positives from tonight about Watford, we looked much better when MS went through the middle Yeates on the wing. Iwelumo what can I say, he would lose a one horse race, in fact he would be third. Could possibly be the worst performance from an individual I have ever seen in a Watford shirt!
Al I admire your spirit and hope you didnt get too cold , but the game was over as soon as the second goal went in , In your heart of hearts you know that to be true , leicester eased off in the second half and we found some fight , which is good , but allied to no intelligence aint that useful! I am really seriously pissed off at the lack of direction and leadership ! well done to the Foxes who lets face it didnt need to get oiut of 2nd gear !
H, I was not impressed by Leicester, yes they beat us fair and square. We had the chances to score, Hoggs effort from outside the area, Schmeical had to be at his best to keep it out, Iwelumo should have scored, I mean he was through the ball was there for him and he hit with the outside of his hoof, all he had to do was toe poke it
You're right about Iwelumo...he just has no pace at all. Saturday he didn't get a touch in 20 minutes. He shouldn't be played, though i suppose SD was thinking of the height factor with no MT.
Didn't Prince get a chance too? We had a few chances in the second half..but that's the story of our season. Chances not taken. Our problems are more up front than anywhere imho...but we're static in midfield too.
I am not giving up on these guys, they deserve our support. Yes there are problems, which can be fixed a bit of self belief will go a long way. my scores on the doors Loach - One glaring mistake which could have lead to a goal, had no chance with either goal though. 5 Doyley - dependable 6 Dicko - just love this guy 110% effort, was first to come across at the start of the game to applaud us fans - 7 Mariappa - solid 7 Smurf - one dodgy moment 6 Kightley - hope it isn't a serious injury -4 JE - lost so much pace 5 Hogg - 6 Deeney - 8 so much running for the cause Garner - jury still out IMO 6 Iwelumo - I have to give him 1 point for turning up and winning 1 header Prince - something about him 7 MS - 6 once he switched in from the wing he was much happier Yeates - 6 loads of effort
