If the second half performance had been done in the first who knows ! I think we would still have been beaten !
A solid if unspectacular win for Leicester. Bad luck Watford, plucky in the second half but Leicester managed to be just good enough not to concede! Good luck against Hull.
It still looked to me like Leicester had throttled back at halftime , if we had some teeth upfront we might have nicked a point out of that! As is Chris cant hit a barn door garner flatters to deceive , Marv well didnt hear much about him when he came on ! I still think the basic problem is we just arent good enough to stay in this league!
I know I said I thought there were 3 worse teams than Watford but not on that evidence. They were abysmal and to me the whole match reminded me of a league cup tie against lower league opposition. We were good first half and very comfortable. As expected though, we took it easy in the second half instead of thrashing them which was very possible had we gone for it. It was a routine win, the sort of thing we should be expecting. Lets just beat Millwall and then we'll see if they have learnt lessons by the time we go to Upton Park.
I agree. Forest were the worst team I'd seen until I saw them against Watford on TV. Imagine my shock when I realised the Hornets were even worse! God only knows how Bristol City beat us if Watford are above them!
I hope you do. I like Watford and there are a lot of club struggling that I would much rather see go down (Bristol City, Coventry, Forest, Millwall)
Beckford too greedy tonight and did not put a shift in. And he goes down earier than a pair of hookers knickers
I just think his main weakness is that he's as thick as two short planks. He loses concentration so often when in possession and makes too many wrong decisions. I can see him being even more frustrating than Yakubu as time goes on. But he scored, that's an improvement, and if he keeps scoring that can only be a good thing. Speaking of strikers, I'm disappointed Schlupp hasn't been on the bench since the Derby game in which he scored. I'd rather see him on there than Weale or Dyer.
good to see we showed some fight in the second half...don't understand why we saved it til then. So...game plan C anyone?
Emilio - gather you have calmed down after Sunday! Don't think I ever seen you so wound up? I am now sitting at home reflecting on what I watched tonight, a superb first half, passed the ball well and movement was great, we were first to almost everything, every time the ball dropped we seemed to have a player there. At half time I felt dissapointed that it was only two, That feeling never changed to the end, even though we won and kept a clean sheet and have moved up a few places, we could have gone 5th with another 2 goals and I am sure we could have got them if we had come out for the second half as we had played in the first. Credit to Watford they must have had a b*llocking at half time as they came out and chased everything in the second half, it really couldn't have got any worse than their first half! Do we keep the same starting 11 against Millwall? I think so apart from Danns in for Abe? Johnson, Wellens and King did ok, we sometimes lacked a LM! most of the time Konch was on his own over there, were as Peltier had Abe and then Fernandes, Beckford did ok, although not as sharp as he should be, Nugent was class.
