Thought Geifo and Vydra may make a good change but it wasn't...Chalobah like he played at Posh - needs to be better on Sunday. Deeney and FF or Deeney and Vydra?
I fear it's over, might be a body blow that is too hard to take. Shame...Hate to be negative but I can't see it working out for Watford. I'll be up at 6:30 Sunday to watch it mind. I hope Watford prove me wrong.
Ok people, I know that being beaten 1-0 isn't what you all wanted, but lets face it, you were never going to go there and be 3-0 up after the 1st leg, although it would have been nice. It was always going to be a hearts in mouths situation, that is what the play-offs are all about. Even though they are a goal to the good, I would still say you are favourites to go through. Good luck folks. COYH
Come on Mex, it's only half time, Deeney is back for Sunday and FF will start with him! The future's bright, the future's GOLDEN! Come on you Horns!
I think we do need to score the first which is why Deeney will be so important. Feel Leicester are bound to score too...
Vydra just looked sluggish and defeated. There was a time when no one in the league could out-pace him, but that Vydra definitely was not there last night.
An interesting stat I have just come across. Whenever we've lost 1-0 this season, the following game we've always scored a minimum of 2 goals.
The last time that I looked, Leicester had a formidable home record, so a 1-0 defeat at the KP does not look a bad result to me. Watford are capable of scoring at least 1 at home aren't they?
Now that is a stat to cheer us up! I don't like to be critical of any of our players but anyone else think Vydra's either suffering from the effects of a long and hard season or maybe even suffering from some kind of injury? He looked a shadow of himself last night. Wouldn't be that surprised to learn he needs an op in the summer. Thought we played well enough - just weren't as clinical as we should have been in front of goal though doubtless Leicester will say the same. Decent game though.
I'm afraid I am with you there - have never felt we would come through the play-offs - the season was a month too long for us. Of course if the free scoring Watford turn up on Sunday anything is possible but....
Yes we are not looking at all good now... BUT...... we will have Deeney..... I think he would have made a big difference last night.... so we have a chance still clearly..
its half time, a one goal deficit is nowt for a free scoring team, with deeney back, fully expect a much more incisive attack, sure its going to be cagey, but i cannot think of another team in this league who are capable of scoring plenty of goals when in the zone...even last night , the better chances fell to watford, but with a bit more composure i am sure the result will be very different on sunday. In fact , this scenario is ideal in that ,in having to win on sunday, momentum and belief will be carried forwards to the big game...!
Feathers - I appreciate that you gave me some Rep the other day but there is no way I'm turning out for their lot on Sunday ... but hold on ... an unfortunate own goal ... now there's a thought
Really didn't think that after we survived the opening onslaught there was much between the two teams. Three excellent saves from Kasper Schmeichel may have been the difference. Vydra does look down, but it seems as if he is trying too hard sometimes. One goal, off his backside if necessary, could be all he needs to get that spark back. I have seen nothing from Alex Geijo to suggest that he should be offered a contract. Strange really that he came to us as the one with a goal scoring record.
I think Vydra was a little bit unlucky last night! His best chance was one where he expected to be given offside so he scuffed his shot, if only he'd played to the whistle, that may have been the chance to get back some confidence!
