Anita plays so deep at times! Like a 3rd cb. Ajax wingers have both been poor when given the ball.

Anita plays as central defender, but he knows Daley Blind is poor defensively, so he instinctively falls back to pick up the ball or either play a part in defense.
Özbilliz has been poor in deed, but Fischer, who plays on the left flank, is a natural striker. Can play as CF but he never was a true winger, don't have much intell on the guy because this is his 3d game for Ajax that has been broadcasted.

Seem to remember somebody mentioned Toivonen quite a while ago and suggested we should go in for him.

Toivonen subbed, Georgino Wijaldum on. One of The Netherlands top talents, likely to replace Sneijder in 3 or 4 years.

Oh this game is getting heated! Cards will be flying!
Theo Jansen and Tyton both recieved a yellow card after a big fight on the pitch

Siem de Jong now cautioned for a tackle on Strootman

I guess you're not watching the game then i guess...

Anyways, Depay on for Narsingh. I quite like Memphis Depay. Quick, agile player with a high work rate on the pitch. Hav never seen him show complacency on the pitch. Great technique and tactics and i've seen him score a couple of beauties.

    94' Georgino Wijnaldum 4-2

    4-2 full time

Ajax are in all sorts of trouble. PSV were dominant in the first half and looked very impressive. Ajax got lucky with an own goal by Marcelo and a header by Alderweireld from a cornerkick. But PSV looked solid. Toivonen, Willems, Van Bommel and Mertens broke down the defense of Ajax efficiently.

    Program next week:

Ajax is up against AZ on Sunday, which is a very tough opponent, ranked 4th last season. If they perform like they did against PSV, Ajax might be in for a bad season start.

PSV are up against RKC Waalwijk, 10th last season. This should be, on paper, an easy match for PSV.

Maybe we should go in for Toivonen after all then?

I strongly suggest you watch a couple of more PSV games. He can be great at times, but when the team is behind or it looks like theyre losing, he loses morale quickly and becomes useles on the pitch. But liek i said, you have to see it for yourself.

Maybe he'd fit right in then, considering we were the only team not to come from behind last season! <laugh>

Good thread Cove, PSV looked pretty good this evening, well worth the watch <ok>

I'm quite curious what you guys think about the level of this match. Most people bitch about the Eredivisie is such a poor league. But none of them ever watched a Eredivisie match. Anyways, next week Ajax - AZ, another top match. Want me to make another match thread or just let it pass...?

I say fill your boots, you'll always have an audience with me mate. I don't really watch much football outside of premier league, championship and european cup football, so I think it'd be good to get more into something a bit different, and I was impressed by the quality of some of the play today. Cheers for providing the links and info!
