That was a massive win for us, coming from behind away from home and players brought back - will give us a huge boost in confidence, just at the right time of the season. One very happy bunny tonight! I might be tempted to imbibe a few!
A good afternoon for me - the 'Orns win and the Jersey rugby side win their National League One match at home to Coventry 29-3. Two more promotions and they'll be entertaining Saracens!
Worst case scenario is a Championship team IMO. Big team home or away = pay day. Lower league team home or away = badly needed chance to play the youngsters. I'm going either way. I get to shockingly few away league matches, but I do not miss FA Cup games.
How things can change. 7 games ago we were 10 points behind Ipswich. Am I being overly pessimistic in thinking that our current run could suddenly end in a run of defeats as happened last season? Do you think that SD has prevented those sort of up/down sequences with a more experienced squad? Wiil the down slide come when the loanees go home? Why has no-one stated talking about our play-off prospects yet? Do Watford fans crave uncertainty? Having said all that it does enable us to really enjoy victories such as today's To misquote John Lennon, "Happiness is a warm goal."
NZ as you say lots of unanswered questions. It is like the ups and downs of recent years has left us too scared to have bad or good thoughts. We watch mesmerized. Five years ago posts would point out we are only 8 points off a play off place. Now silence. But it does feel good to have more than 3 points between us and the relegation zone. And somehow I would have been distraught had Nathan scored against us - and I don't really know why. Perhaps of course the storm is just over the horizon but for now I'll satisfy myself with - the more points in the bin the better. Enjoy
Could it be that Sean and his team know better than the armchair pundits about how to manage a season? I hope we continue on the up and get the right loans in or extended in the new year to keep building momentum.... COYH COYH COYH
Extending the loans we have would be helpful , NN was awesome against brizzle and Donny and does seem to tie our defence together as a unit ! Even Scott is benefiting from his presence! Kightly has pace and quality , tis crucial we keep these guys!
The Ipswich board suggest that the penalty we got was a dive. What are the thoughts on the penalty here?
This makes good reading from one of our colleagues on the ipswich board more depressing than burnley as a one off result this would be brushed off easily, because it sounds like we played well unlike at burnley where we deserved what we got. but once again 2 easy goals for the opposition ruin the whole game in which we deserved something. We need to learn how to defend like watford did...
from the horses mouth “@leodraude: @Sords_20 was that a penalty in your opininon HONESTLY ?” yeah definitely!! 4 minutes ago via Twitter for iPhone
According to 3CR commentary, there was no dispute from any of the Ipswich players - probably a greater pointer than the thoughts of a disgruntled, possibly one-eyed, Ipswich fan, I'd say.
Agree North. A FA Cup tie between two Championship sides gets less coverage than any other. The media just doesn't care.
