#53 "The priority is to not lose today." A win would put some distance between us and Donny. In the end Jon Marks thought it was a fair result.
He's a happy soul, all together now He's H.a.p.p.y he's H.a.p.p.y I know i am I'm sure I am, he's h.a.p.p.y.
Well its a half hearted attempt to be optimistic i guess. We will have to try to influence him on tuesday H.
Haha to the above Keepmoat nice little ground even if it was more than half empty about 700 Hornets there ,which isnt a bad effort! Defensively now looking a lot more solid than against the saints, Still lots of running around with little end result! Intelligent running still seems to be at a premium! But at least a solid base is now there! We are still lacking that creative attacking midfielder like Cowie or TC , cant wait for Mc Ginn to come back !! if Sean would play him!! Overall Donny did ok considering there team doesnt know each other yet! A 0-0 draw says a lot about the game and we just about deserved it ! Thinking for the Bristol game is going to have to be a lot better performance as they are now on a very good run (New gaffer Syndrome ). Well off into Donny been promised a few more beers and a curry
We were no great shakes... Sordell was a class above until he went off and was creating problems all across the front line. Iwelumo.... neednt someone to work off him and he looked very static in any case.... and skied his best chance. Defensively very strong but there was a tendancy to hoof it forward... well Eustace was back (joke)..... Overall Donny were more threatening on the ball in attack. We wasted so many midfield attacking chances really by losing the ball or passing right back etc But at least we didnt lose..
Always glad to hear reports from eye witnesses of the game, as although I believe Jon Marks does an excellent job in conveying what he sees, there is always the doubt that I have heard what he says correctly. The Donny loanees will just about get to know each other then back to their clubs, as from what was said this afternoon they are only at the club until the beginning of January. Either a loan period could be extended, or new loanees brought in. It all sounds like a recipe for disaster to me and some of the fans up there don't seem to know what to make of it. Having not seen NN play I don't know, but it seems as if he has brought his experience of defending to the club and simply by looking at the results since he came into the team he has had a major impact. I don't know what the chances of him staying are, but for the first time in several years we actually have a half decent defence.
Completely missed the match, but on the face of it I'm very happy with the result. An away point is a decent point regardless of who it comes against, and a clean sheet against their forward line is nothing to be sniffed at. Apologies to the guy who used to be Millens, but it's Bristol's run that has me annoyed. A couple of weeks ago there were three clear favourites for relegation, and we weren't one of them. By the process of elimination, most people will now be tipping either Watford or Portsmouth to join Coventry and Doncaster.
Oh I don't know - a lot may include Forest, Ipswich and Millwall who are all having poor runs at the moment. Derby are also sliding down the table rather drastically - even if TP did score his annual goal for them today. Given our recent results, I think most will see us as on the up - unless, of course, we muck it all up on Tuesday
From the sounds of it it was a fair result, and it's a good result for Watford. An away point is an away point, and with the players that Doncaster are starting to bring in they will take points off of teams this season. As far as I see it we're keeping the momentum going, but its quite an important game against Bristol City on Tuesday!
I agree with that, but that's not how things will be portrayed. The average football pundit doesn't have time to watch Championship football. The average football pundit will conclude that Forest and Ipswich are too big to go down to a league that includes Charlton, Sheffield Wednesday and Sheffield United, and that Kenny Jackett is too good a manager to get a team relegated. A measure of how badly the media are treating us (through ignorance rather than malice, I accept) is that Steve Claridge is coming the closest to giving a true reflection of how we're doing this season.
