Sorry to give you an old Cliche, but it was a game of two halves !!! City won first half and Donny won 2nd half.
Complacency on our part? sounds like we bossed the first half. Hope Donny stay up, would hate to lose another Yorkshire team to League 1.
I do think McLean and Waghorn should have started, Koren and Waghorn should NOT have been taken off !!! Fryatt getting a bit of a slating on radio for looking sluggish, Brady getting praised.
The same numpties are texting in on blunderisde calling for Pearson's head. I know tonight's disappointing but put yourselves in Forest shoes for example. Things could be a hell of a lot worse, we're 6th again and have a big game ahead on Saturday where there's another 3 points to be won.
The bloke can't win. I'm as unhappy as anyone, that we can't kill teams off & score more goals, but there has been some improvement all ready from last season. This time last season we were a shambles, caused by relegation and a summer of turmoil, i mean utter ****e. We were getting battered by 3/4 goals and still not scoring either. It took us well in November to get the amount of points we have now. And as for whinging we've not played anybody hard- it doesn't always work like that. Footballs unpredictable.
I think we have two missing ingredients, HARD MAN midfielder to get a foot hold on the game to BOSS IT and a tall, strong pacey striker, the latter is the more important. We are way too one dimensional, not enough height up top for set pieces, corners etc. If you look at both the last two goals we conceded.... Bristol's goal = Header from tall Striker Doncaster goal = Big Man Parkin with a flick down header in the box for a smaller player to tap in. Hope you see my methodical thoughts based on the two examples I give.
I've just made a thread on this. I won't deny we need to improve on stuff before we can seriously consider a promotion push, but things could be a hell of a lot worse than they are. You only have to look back to that night at Burnley to see how far we've come. Saturday's our toughest game on paper so far, but there isn't much between teams in this league so we've done well to go 5 unbeaten.
let's look at it another way.. we're hardly scoring and we're 6th.. we can't expect much better with such a poor scoring rate, but hey the defence is ok.. and basso very pleasing.. a point at Donny isn't the end of the world, we lost 3-1 last time..
Trouble is some people have unrealistic expectations. We're not going to win every game. You've just got to take something/ grind out a result even when you're playing well. At the end of the season you might say we've done that at Donny. It wasn't going to be a 4 nil win, so i dunno why anybody predicted it. Going up is a step too far, i think. But you never know.
Pleased with the point, but disappointed, that for the 2nd game in a row we've taken the lead and not pressed our advantage and allowed the other team back into to get a point
Think that's the only grumble most fans have. Definitely shouldn't come to people calling for his head. Fingers crossed for a decent match at the weekend v Cardiff.
Looking forward to going to the KC on Saturday after two away games, I'm getting withdrawal symptoms !!! lol
But must also be realistic about time frames. Some people need to give their head a rattle and learn to enjoy the ride instead of lurching from dreams of Europe if we win to looking up the directions to conference grounds if we lose.
Aye, i've had enough of listening to Burnsy and Swanny. In fact i turned it off and just followed yours and the City facebook site's updates. More interesting i've got to say. Cheers for that.
