Just feel I should point out that this incident, and also the one that immediately preceded it involving Rosenior and Gulacsi, were both the fault fo the defender. I heard Gulacsi shout very loud from the stand both times but Rosey/Evans still went for it.

I thought he reffed the game pretty well overall, but his card was coming out for every tackle. Rosenior and McLean's bookings were particularly daft.

Would it? We played Koren and Stewart on the wings today, would this be any different defensively?

We had about 10 more shots than them if I remember the stats rightly.

It was weird to watch in the second half, generally if the home team is a goal or two down they will spend most of the half attacking trying to score but we spent the whole time in their half attacking, it was looking like a training session eventually.

Were we at the same game? Koren never moved from his place in the hole behind Fryatt, Koren never touched the wing at any point, even McLean was playing deeper when we were in the 4231. Looked very much like a team being built around Koren in his natural position, and he was definitely pulling the strings, always getting on the ball causing problems and playing good through balls behind the defence from start to finish. I really liked the way we were set up today!

Build a team around Koren..... what a novel idea!

Has Barmby worked this out in a short time? It took NP quite a while longer......

Barmby does understand the "in the hole" position from his playing days......

They seemed to start with 4-4-2 but were changing all the time and ended up, as you say, with some sort of 3-man second wave thing going on behind Fryatt. My point stands though as we've played Koren and Stewart, Koren and Devitt and even Koren and Brady together so there's no reason Stewart and Brady couldn't play together, especially when you consider that those two actually do more defensive work (even if they aren't good at defending naturally) than Koren or Devitt.

with McLean now possibly suspended (5th booking today very harsh) for the Burnley home game next week then Brady to come in and play 4 - 3 - 3 again. Burnley look very poor at the back so lets keep there misery going. At least McLean will be fresh for saints game tuesday week.

so yes go with brady fryatt and stewart up top against Burnley. hope NB agrees here. lol UTT

This sums up what I think, great defence from Pearson and now Barmby can give us a bit of attacking nous. I've no doubt Barmby will bring in another attacker in the transfer window which is what we need really, not knocking Mclean and Fryatt but they are all we have, Adebola was a Pearson mistake

That's even worse. If it was the milkman you can get your revenge by buying your milk from the supermarket.
    With the postman you're stuffed.

The Watford manager tried that on as well. I can understand him trying it at an away game most fans won't have seen, but who does Clough think he's kidding when there's been 30,000ish Derby fans watching the game for themselves?

Agreed with the above, we passed it about really well in the second half and they made it easy for us by standing off our players. It was almost training ground warm upesque. Great to watch.

Derby sounded poor from the radio commentary, there was never a moment when i felt we'd let our lead slip. No clue where Cloughie junior is coming from on that one.
