That is not as bad . I don't expect any of us care about Mourinho's record! A Madrid win has no possibility of denying us a CL place, so it is a complete no brainer. Just to be clear if Spurs are 3rd or 5th, I will be supporting Chelsea in any final. England team over any other. However if we are 4th, anyone but Chelsea!
Disagree. Cahill is very mobile and less likely to take risks than Luiz. Just look how Cahill dealt with Bale on Sunday. Bale is a lot faster than Messi. Anyway Messi wont get the ball if we cut off the supply much like Eto didn't in 09. They still have to worry about the likes of Mata, Drogba and Rameires too.
Thanks for comparing Bale to Messi! You are seriously wrong if you think Eto'o and Messi are similar players, Messi doesn't need to supplied in the same way, is capable of picking the ball up in Midfield and making things happen.
gareth bale and lionel messi compared ? really ? Messi played 53 games 63 goals Bale played 42 games 15 goals . comparing a thoroughbred to a seaside donkey. messi dosent rely on running faster than defenders, he just moves through them like they are not there.
Well that is bollox (you are clearly mixing him up with Walcott) and misdirected. It wasn't me who compared them - see above. My comment was joking, but thanks for overreacting!
Bale is quick and that's it. One trick. Not even comparable to Messi. Though I agree Messi is able to make the game without supply, you have to target somewhere. Man marking Messi is a quick route to getting a yellow. You have to neutralise Xavi and Iniesta.
My point seems to have been missed. HD said Cahill wasn't mobile enough to handle Messi which I personally disagree with and used Cahill's mobility against Bale as justification. Bale is no Messi, who is? But Bale is bloody fast and mobile and Cahill handled him well. If Messi comes into midfield to get the ball then great, just proves that our midfield will be doing their job in cutting off his supply. Messi is human after all and has been marked out of games before by the likes of Arbaloa (sic?) and Bosingwa in games against the English before. It'll be tough and odds are against us but people talk about Barca as if they are unbeatable which they are not. We are here to win and they will know they've been in a game whatever the result.
To be honest, Cahill was world class against Bale, but that means nothing. His lack of European experience is always a worry.
I'm genuinely more worried about the ref and / or Barca's cheating abilities than their admittedly world class team. That's the only way they've beaten us previously; by getting our players sent off or bad refs.
Here is the link for the Barcelona forum if anyone wants to read Barcelona fans perspective of the match: http://www.barcaforum.com/showthread.php/8914-CL-Chelsea-FC-Barcelona
Who's going tonight? I will be in my home in the Norf, sipping beers and scaring the neighbours I think I rattled their windows when Drogbas goal went in on Sunday
That was pot kettle black of the highest order. Barca have the worst divers in the game. Chelsea do not dive.
I can't really see a scenario where Barcelona don't score, you just have to hope you can outscore them but at least a couple of goals. Even with 1 goal advantage they'd still be favourites to go through at the Nou Camp.
"BBC Match of the Day presenter, and former Barcelona striker, Gary Lineker: "I'm going to stick my neck out here, and when I do that I often get stuck in a doorway, but I can't see anything other than a Barca win." You can follow Gary" I take it that either he doesn't know the meaning of the phrase "stick my neck out" or he actually believe we are significantly better than them.
