No concerns right now from Bristol Rovers re. #watfordfc's Carling Cup tie 2night. Police advice will ultimately dictate. Will update as apt

It is on Twitter as well: game with Bristol Rovers has been called off, of course I pasted it on the Short news thread instead of here this time
scottloach1 scott loach Just got to bristol, and the games off! Bout time we sorted these scumbags out!
I nearly did this; Observer_Owl Watford Observer Had an email from an angry #WatfordFC fan. He has spent £41 on a train ticket to Bristol and a non-refundable £53 on a hotel. Already there Which would have meant taking 2 days off as well!
Sords_20 Marvin Sordell Annoyin to get here for it to just be called off. Feel sorry for the fans who have lost their time and money to travel up for no reason.
It’s a shame but also understandable guys. The last thing the police need is a few thousand people walking the very same streets the riots came from. We could have a situation where it is adding to the riot's numbers by some idiots joining in. Or fans would join forces and kick the living **** out of the little blighters, but either way it just seems like it is possible to cause more problems. I do feel sorry for any of you guys who have already made the trip for the game though
It's completely understandable. the lack of police presence at the ground won't be a problem, as very much doubt it would kick off - but if the fans do clash with the rioters, I suspect the fans won't take any of their nonsense and give them a good seeing to! Just a shame it has come to this, and was very surprised to see Bristol one of the first places for it to happen after London! Hope everyone stays safe up there
wfcbadgemoose Watford FC Official #watfordfc's trip to Bristol Rovers has been re-arranged for CC2 week, Tuesday August 23, with a 7.45pm ko. Coach travel tickets still valid
If I'm rational I can understand why; but if it's for the reasons Chris gives it could have been called off far earlier. Rovers v Watford in an early round of a cup is hardly likely to to see trouble, and could have been lightly policed. Any postponed match is a 'win' for the mindless thugs.
I guess they were waiting to see if there was any trouble last night (hoping it would just be the one night), and maybe there was 'intelligence' about a repeat tonight! It has still been called off pretty early, and will only effect a minority who would have booked hotels and travelled up early rather than your 'average' supporter travelling late afternoon, and going back that night! Frustrating, nonetheless....
