Personally I feel that up to the final if it is all square at kick off the game should be awarded to the team starting Wat (just in case we draw Walsall)
Watford should win at a canter, but I think The Gas are a serious proposition this season, so I'll go for 2-1 to The Gas....Looking forward to being at this one... Up The Gas!!
I hope we put out a second team - we should be resting our first choice players for this one and give the rest of the squad players a chance to shine. IMO there is absolutely no sense in playing Loach, Taylor, Mariappa, Doyley, Atkinson, Eustace, Jenkins, Yeates, Forsyth, Iwelumo and Sordell.
Care to share why? I think this is a great opportunity to get them more match fitness. I expect Gilmartin to play like he did last year but the others should. Rovers played well on Saturday. They were clinical in front of goal. Where better to make sure the new boys get more game time together before a big game before Derby? Also? What Second Team? We have a TINY squad
Hampshire - 46 league games makes it a long hard season and I am a great believer in using the squad to maximum effect. If you send down a first team to Bristol Rovers and they get beat or suffer injuries then we might be struggling for Saturday's home game against Derby. We need to give peripheral players a chance and also experience. There is no way that you are going to get a full season out of Eustace and Taylor so I see this as a great opportunity for wholesale changes IMO.
I'm not sure Millens will agree, but it's good to see a few Gasheads in this thread. Two way match threads rule!
there is lots of street parking all around the stadium. i can often find a space within 5 mins walk away with half an hour to kick off. just have a look at google maps at our stadium and see all the streets free for you to park on as for pubs, we have lots of pubs near the ground all up and down gloucester road - again see google maps. i have been in all these pubs and you will be safe wearing your colours as long as you dont look for trouble. i recommend the duke of wellington on the main gloucester road. always has visitors fans. been the odd trouble now and then but it is rare and its only happened when the opposition fans wanted to start a bit of trouble
Well i work surrounded by rovers fans so this is a nowim senario for me! I'd advise horns not to travel, been too one game and took 2 hours too get out of bristol
on a bad day with rush hour traffic, it has taken me up to 2 hours to get from 1 side of bristol to the other. i have travelled from bristol to london in less time before! however, on a match day, i have managed to get out of the ground and in my car and home within 15/20 mins. you will be fine. also its a night game so traffic would be less than the normal saturday traffic.
Mornin' all. I used to live in Brighton and one of my classmates at school was a Gas fan and did he give the school a problem on Monday 3rd December 1973. If you aren't old enough the result from the previous Saturday was a 2-8 win at the Goldstone Ground for Bristol Rovers.
And here it is on youtube. Goals from Bannister 3, Warboys 4 and Burnley, the reply was from Howe and O'Sullivan
