It didn't sound good, especially 2nd half when instead of having a really good go at them, they took the game to us.
To an extent, I guess we just never know what players will turn up and play next season to try and predict how we'll get on. Trouble is, with the players that came in last summer we thought it would go better than it has. I suppose there's nothing to stop the same thing happening again unless Beppe can really gel them over he summer.
We seem to have a worrying tendency for heads to start dropping as soon as a goal goes in against us. Is it the Italian mentality to think that 2-0 or 0-2 = game over ? Come to think of it I have never seen an Italian team, either at international or club level, fight back from a 0-2 deficit.

For what it's worth, it seemed to me like the game against Brighton, where we were the home team, if you see what I mean. We weren't particularly good, but the 2 goal lead helped us play better in that game. Yesterday, after a purposeful 25 minutes, bolton got a goal from Jutjkiewicz (whateever) that really should never have reached him. We didn't play worse, but the opportunities dried up. The 2nd, an opportunist effort really and at a great time for them helped bolton enormously. We tried for 10-15 minutes second half, it became quite open, but then we fell away. If we'd scored first from deeney's header the whole day would have turned out differently - that's how close it is in this league. Anya was good - should have been given the ball a lot more. Park looked tidy, ran well when the ball was aimed at deeney, it just never got to him. Murray looked like he is enjoying his football too. Apart from that, oh and toszer looked assured, we didn't really look like a team on the up.
If the Pozzo's have a long term plan of Premiership football then they need to provide the resources and management to build a TEAM that can achieve this. At the moment it's sounds a bit like musical players/managers so nothing can gel. BS is always talking about recovery time - our the players not fully fit to play 2 games a week? We need to pick the best 11 each week and barring injury, not change the team make up too much for each game. SD got 'em fit as did GT! Bring back the terraces!
Can we refuse to play matches in Lancashire and Greater Manchester? It seems like we never win there, no matter who the players and manager are.
It's not quite true that we never win there, but I refer you to my earlier post on this thread: http://www.not606.com/showthread.ph...on-v-Watford?p=6120101&viewfull=1#post6120101
Its typical Watford - have a good run to boost hopes but then only get 1 point from 6 against sides near the bottom. Mind you Bolton probably ought to be doing better. I suspect no matter what Sannino does there are a few minds thinking about holidays..
Looking at the "highlights" video (precious few highlights for us) it seems like we were lucky to escape with a 2-0. They opened up our defence very easily and Mason had two great chances before he actually scored, then another great chance later in the game. Worrying at this stage of the season when we were starting to think that Sannino had got a grip--but there still seems to be a lot of work to do, and no settled team in sight.
and worse than that was their record in their previous 8 or 9 games. We are a mess really. There is no likely prospect of relegation or promotion so we really need now to start to sort out what longer term is our best team and playing style. I do not see that happening at the moment.
