....and 2 points gained from another last minute goal last weekend and we paid nothing for Vydra. All 3 games could have finished level and we'd still have 3 points. Early days yet - if we were losing away games by 2 & 3 goals (a la Vialli) instead of by injury time winners I would be more worried.
My biggest worry is that we seem to have gone from a position where we looked like scoring 5/6 per game to a position where we look, lucky to score one. What has changed so drastically?
the team changes regularly..not helped by stupid blinkin' cards...Cassetti now has 4! We really need a settled team...
Gutted, returned home from a half shift on Sat, mildly hungover too and this is not good news. Onwards and upwards I guess.
The heavy rotation of attack-minded players. Yeates getting his way with set pieces more than ever, and being his usual wasteful self. I've only listened to the last two matches, but my impression today is that while the wing backs worked very hard, they tended to prefer the short pass to the cross? If so, I'd question whether we had the central midfielders to make that work today.
You are right about Yeates. He never produces anything from a set piece. Thats another reason we need Vydra or Abdi on the pitch, they are far more productive. And thats right about the short passes too. We never put crosses into the box anymore. If we did we might challenge more, but the wing backs seem scared to press into the final third and Yeates refuses to run to get into the box. If he did he might be able to get ahead on the ball and it would be a chance. Instead we end up losing the ball.
Never rated Yeates lets hope Abdi shakes off his knock before next game . would use deeney and vydra up top
Ditto, sounds logical to me, Zola needs to find his best 11, our best 11, and then use it. It is not like we are playing in the CL, PL, CC and FACup is it now? Get a solid 11 in and only drop players when they are finding form difficult. Otherwise we are just on a Zola roundabout...
