It was but he offered absolutely zero in that position which is Carrolls position. He didnt do well at all and was surprised he stayed on the whole game. I can think of 2 things SWP did well, tracked back for a great tackle and a nice long cross field ball but I cannot think of anything positive that ONeill did considering his only job was to create chances. Its a must Carroll or hopefully Kranjcar start there every game.
From my point of view, at the moment I'm glad we look such a solid unit. Such a difference from last season, maybe we all forget how far the team has come in such a short space of time. Austin will fire eventually, patience is required by ourselves, interesting to read in that John Byrne interview how long it took him to get his debut goal.
It's a circular argument -Brighton's back four were equally as comfortable because we played Henry. Terribly negative from Redknapp and deserving of a 0-0 scoreline.
To continue the circular argument, playing Henry allows the FB's to move forward more so aiding the attacking play. It is mostly a creative midfielder that we need so getting Krankjar fit & Carroll experience are vital.
Was trying to stay out of this now as its gone on long enough but I cant have that. Sums up how risk averse, boring and negative some are on this board. It just plainly isn’t true!! One full back can go forward at a time and overlap when we’re attacking. That could have happened with or without Henry
