I certainly wasn't complaining on Saturday about Carroll replacing Henry, I did however complain about starting with 4-4-2. Carroll needs to play in a five-man midfield IMO and last night was the opportunity.

Well, it seems to me the whole Board (other than you Stroller) were complaining on Saturday that Henry was dropped for Carroll and that's what made Barton sh*t. Now, Henry comes back in and Barton is decent again, the Board is complaining that Carroll wasn't in for Henry!

Sounds like people agree with COL that we should start 12 players <doh>

Couldn't Carroll have played instead of O'neil, leaving Henry where he was? O'neil offered little yesterday.

I state again as i have done ... it's pretty clear to me what Henry does for this current Rangers team ... everything ... now the others need to start playing and taking their chances

Yes, I never like AJ and hes going to be injured for half a season. I think Henry is going to cripple us Zamora style all season because we needed Derry to cover Taarabt. We dont need Henry because we dont have anyone whos going to push forward from midfield so Henry isnt needed.

Saying that, he had an acceptable performance but him playing instead on Carroll/Kranjcar meant we were highly unlikely to score.

The good news is apparently Kranjcar is set to start Saturday.

Its what everyones saying, he plated out of position and didnt do well and then Oneill comes in out of position and offered nothing. Why not just play Oneill in CM against Birmingham and then Carroll in AM last night?

Things like that are the reason why I think we go the wins despite Redknapps influence, not because of them. To top it off, we put on 2 LB (1 enforced) and a CM and left a CF and AM on the bench all night, utterly insane.

Thanks for the report, i did see the game only got what i could from the radio but as always I just can't believe the whining and moaning.

Last Night we went top of the League, at the beginning of the season I would have offered a small percentage of my Pork Pie rations for this position. I sure Harry knows we need to create more and I still believe with Hoilett, Carroll, Kran, Philips and Faurlin will provide.

Some people will always look for any excuse to have a go at our manager, doesn't seem to matter which one either. FFS try being supports for a change, as you claim to be.

Stroller, you have a choice whether to go or not. If you don't like the football being played despite being top of the league I would suggest you stay at home, along with Flyer. It appears that people are not content with simply winning promotion this season but want to piss all over the league whilst doing it. Sorry, but to me, that's just ridiculous.

I also get the feeling that for a good number of people on this Board, they'd rather see us play well and lose than play sh*t and win. That also, to me, is ridiculous.

We're not Barcelona, we're QPR. Time for a reality check gentlemen.

I thought it was a piss poor result as said before. These teams, in their current form, should be overcome at Loftus Road. We should be 3pts clear of everyone else, not squeaking ahead by a point.
I'll be happy settling for a point at home, against a below average side, when it's the one that wins us automatic promotion - otherwise it's not good enough given our form, position and opportunity.
Need to do better than accept a point just because it puts us top so early in the season!

Swords, I am first and foremost a QPR supporter, so of course the thing I want to see most is a QPR win and for us to gain promotion this year. However, I don't see anything wrong with my being critical of what was a very poor performance last night or with my criticising HR for being over-cautious in picking Henry to counteract a non-existent Brighton attacking threat. I don't want us to play well and lose - I want us to play well and win. Last night we did neither.

It was a tight game last night with Brighton hanging on and doing their job as spoilers ... expect a lot more of that this season as we have by far the best team and squad in the division. As most know i am not crazy about Harold and believe that Stephen is making a real difference to our team and work ethic ... I will go and support my team and when i am there I shout and sing for our team ... Our fan base is however diseased to **** as i have been saying now for ages ... Brighton out sung us last night and we as a collective set of fans were not the 12th man ... this is because we aren't as excited as we were having had our guts ripped out over the last two seasons ... how do we fix it and stop me moaning about the fans?

we get a section of the ground we call in the future the 606 whereupon on here we can organise ourselves into producing good songs and chants ...

its just an idea

But that just doesn't make any sense. The point at home that wins us auto promo could have been that point last night! I remember being at an awful game at home to the Posh which we drew 1-1 in the last minute and Ollie said that could be the point that takes us up and indeed, in the end, it proved invaluable. If you're content to win at home and draw away, then surely that applies the other way around too, IE, win away and draw at home. It makes no difference which way we do it. We all know we're not going to win every home game and to expect as much is crazy. For the points we drop at home, we make them up with away wins. That's the nature of football.

You're focusing on last night's result to the exclusion of our two wins on the road mate.

Result was ok we didn't lose & have devine right to be anyone, brighton were ok & played the ball around nicely without being threatning, i take us were we stand at present, ok we've got a third of the team right defence & just need to be a bit more creative & it will come, ok not playing that well but still picking up points which to me is good & promotion material.

Dave, I am with you 100% on this one. The atmosphere last night was poor, and we were indeed outsung, or more like, they sung, we didn't. I'd go as far as to say we'd have won that game if the crowd had done its job. It's not been good for a while now and it needs to change. There'll obviously always be those who want to sit quietly and watch and that's fine, but there are loads who will give it some if others take the lead.

Let's work out a way of planting groups in areas of the stands to get it going.

Crazy statement. He had so little to do because Brighton understandably had no intentions of going for it.

They had one up front and we had two centre backs and Henry close by which made it essentially 3 on 1 a lot of the time and this as a consequence left us short where it mattered.

BUT we would have been more likely to have won it without him!!

It’s simple really. By playing Henry we sacrificed support for Austin and that made us less likely to score a goal.

Are we less likely to concede by playing Henry rather than Carroll, Faurlin or even Hitchcock… perhaps yes. .But I find this so marginal because he is being replaced with very good footballers.

Yeah while maybe they score a goal but guess what some teams can actually score more than 1 goal so not every win requires a clean sheet.

So are we more likely to have scored with Henry out of the team… undoubtedly!!

We are ridiculously lucky not to have lost a game this season because we could have easily lost every single one of our games ironically with the exception of the Huddersfield game which we drew.

With Ulloa out, the Brighton team last night had one goalscorer who had 2 goals. That’s it!!

They were always going to sit back. The cavernous gap between Barton/O’Neil and Austin meant we could not sustain any possession in the final third. And when we did manage to get the ball up there it took so long that Brighton were able to get their shape and watch us run out of ideas.

What was clear last night was that this myth that Henry allows those in front of him to play was just that… a myth. We didn’t play in the final third and really did not look like scoring. The balance at home is wrong. We need to be confident in our ability to win games by scoring goals and trust the defence and midfield to offer sufficient support.

At the moment Redknapp and a lot of fans on here are unbelievably risk averse.

What was also clear last night is that Austin need more support and I think O’Neil and Barton are good enough performers to have played centre midfield on their own.

Our games are so tight they are effectively becoming set piece competitions. And the games are so boring it is killing the crowd and the atmosphere.

If we continue to perform as we have done we will slide down the table.

Fair enough Stroller mate. Whilst I do believe we will soon start both playing well and winning, I don't care if we never play well all season yet somehow scramble up out of this awful league.

Its all about the results for me this year.
