End of season 1925-26 By league position, this was Charlton Athletic's worst season in their entire history to date. There was no relegation from the 3rd Divisions back in 1926, but the Addicks were forced to stand for re-election to the league. The Board kept faith with new manager Alex MacFarlane however, perhaps because the Club's financial situation was so perilous they may not have been able to afford to sack him.
Season 1926-27 - 3rd Division (South) Match 1 of 42 This match was the Charlton debut for John 'Jack' Horton. Horton would make 252 league appearances for the Addicks over seven seasons, and was almost ever-present during Charlton's first spell in the 2nd Division at the turn of the decade.
