I cant drink lager full stop find them all very tasteless .. I am real ale drinker ... on a good night could polish off 12+ pints, In Yorkshire once did 20 in a day! 3 Christmases ago near Ben Nevis drank solid for 13 hours, the tab was £64.80 x 3 when we jokingly, next day, queried it because we had drunk all of one name, after about 12 pints "and had to put up with that other stuff" he gave all 3 of us a plate of cheesy chips with slices of red pudding, how do we know it was correct! we had 10 red counters each from a casino ...not mine .. and gave him one each round! we finished up with 4 each ... I normally only have 2 pints each session 3-4 times a week ...next week will consume 36 pints of potholer from Cheddar ales!
depends on the definition of ripped off! Mince pies flavour of the month .. recent survey put waitrose 6th and harrods £8.95 for 6 amongst the 5 in the same place, lidl 11th, top was Iceland with their 6 for £1.50 whereas their 12,s were way down the list at £2.99. harrods also did a selection of "others" way down the list
actually, its quite interesting looking at the "panels/ groups" results on a wide range of products Harrods, that you would assume would be far better quality because it is 5 or more times expensive, didn't get a top 5 in all the things "Christmassy that I looked at Iceland, had a top 2 + main 5 supermarkets were all up there, COOP got a top for brandy butter ..?.. I think it was that ... waitrose/ocado did Ok as did LIDL/ALDI for some things .. lidl seems to be just under Tesco pricing for some items and more expensive on others think that may be a ploy as peeps wouldn't bother to check ...
I come in to look at the match highlights and you're all discussing wine. Sort it out you bunch of women.
I do like a good Malbec, but you can't go far wrong with Aldi's Toro Loco Tempranillo - eminently quaffable and at just over £3 a bottle an absolute steal!!
I used to drink warm( Mulled) beer a lot in the 70's when I lived in Yate, the pub was called the oo2 (double 02) the beers was Whitbread Trophy & Tankard, bloody awful stuff, needless to say I have drunk lager since the 80's...
'I come in to look at the match highlights' I gave my assessment answering a request. It's others who haven't commented on the match. Sarson's vinegar
Stella isn't the drink it was. From 5.0 or sometimes 5.2 alcohol by gravity it was a dangerous drink at times. But now it's been reduced to 4.8 and they've changed the taste too. So I too prefer Kronenbourg 1664 these days. If you can find it (I've largely only seen it in hotels) although the Bristol Flyer used to sell it, Stella Black on draught is a thing of beauty and tastes more like the real thing used to.
