Well trying to take a positive out of this, with Elmo, Catts and Larsson on the left and with no strikers we have not done too bad. The difference being our manager who handicapped our team from the start

Hypothetical possibilities aside, the facts are that we sit 4th from bottom level on points with the team 3rd off bottom and 1 point off the bottom, 6 points from 8 games.
Next up, away to Bolton, a real relegation battle of attrition. Perfect game for Bruce to select a battler in the mould of cattermole.

Sunderland fought well, but van Persie showed the disparity in quality between the two sides. If Sunderland can perform like that invariably, then they have every chance of finishing in the top half of the table. We weren't at our best, and we still have a lot to sort out, especially defensively, but the aim of the game is to get three points and we did that today.
