A pathetic effort, but here we go...


NCFC XI: Ruddy; R.Martin, Whittaker, Johnson, Howson, Snodgrass, Holt, Pilkington, Hoolahan, Garrido, R.Bennett.

MCFC XI: Hart, Zabaleta, Richards, Lescott, Kolarov, Yaya Toure, Rodwell, Milner, Tevez, Nasri, Dzeko.

Benches:
Bunn, Fox, E.Bennett, Becchio, Barnett, Butterfield, Tettey.

Bassong injured? Or just rested?
 
Surprised Bassong is out, but it wouldn't surprise me if he's been carrying a knock for the last few games. Martin to CB and Whittaker at RB presumably.

Butterfield on the bench, is that the first time he's figured in the first team all season?

<laugh> That'd be quite a change from 9 behind the ball defending. "Right lads, no fear today so we're playing 2-4-4."
 
The difference between 10th and 17th place is £5.25m in prize money. A result of any kind today could give a healthy boost to the transfer coffers.
 
I would liked to have seen Becchio starting, hopefully we'll get to see Butterfield at some point.

Bit concerned Bassong isn't in the team, I fear we may get hammered without him. But I'm not highly nervous about this game seeing as we can't go down no matter what.

It's a copy and paste job from the ncfc twitter account- first time I read it I thought the same! Then I also thought we might be playing three across the back.

Looking forwar to seeing Whittaker at right back because I think that's where he's most effective

It's certainly a test for Ryan Bennett. For him this is pretty much as difficult a game as he could get. Will be interesting to see how he copes without Bassong. Might be a good indicator of how desperate we'll be for a new CB this summer.

Yeah will be interesting. We haven't done well at the back whenever Bassong is out, so it will test us to see if we've improved.
 
Seeing them play in the new kit I actually quite like it. Think the yellow could be a bit brighter though.
 
I think I'm definitely in the minority of actually liking our new kit!

Decent start for us in this game.
 
Man United 2-0 up already. I suppose if we can stick four past WBA, what can they do??
