Maybe so, but that is no reason to hate him! If you hate players who are not very good then that is pretty sad.

Sure, he's not the player he was last season, but to still be criticising him for something that happened a month ago seems a bit over the top. Do you still not forgive Turner for that backpass against Sunderland last season?

Today, by all accounts (I was at Bramall Lane so only following online) we've done everything but score. We had 31 shots today, no team has had that many all season! To me that sounds like we set the team up correctly, and but for inspired goalkeeping/defending, we'd have taken three points.

Once again though, it's another decent performance without the desired points, and we need to change that sooner rather than later. We're still only in the relegation zone on goal difference though, and it's not like other teams are getting away from us. We're still only a quarter of the way through the season, so plenty of time to turn performances into results just yet.

I really think that missed penalty is defining our season. All I wanted was for him to admit some kind of responsibility for the decision - nothing else. We all make mistakes. What got my goat was not the missed penalty, but the refusal to take any kind of responsibility for it.

Anyway, I know I am not with the majority opinion here. Regarding today, I think we are heading in the right direction and I don't have a problem with what CH is doing this season.

With our players talking about people booing, it shows the negative vibes does effect the players.

I didn't really think the booing was justified for this game too. Yes it's frustrating not getting the 3pts we deserved, but you can't say they didn't try.

    Calm down, it's only football.

Thought the performance was good but so have the last 2-3 it was just about turning it into points against the lesser teams, didn't happen today.

Not only CH fault, players have to step up as we need to start winning these games soon.

Guess Dave and others are not to keen on my take on things but nevermind we all see things differently.

Kempy, I don't have a problem with the way you see things, you're entitled to your opinion! Yes, I see things differently, I can see a marked improvement in our play, we had 31 shots at goal today, I don't see how not converting at least one of them can be blamed on CH!<ok>

Dave, in your opinion, is playing one up front the right formation?
I have my doubts, but at a loss to know what the right formation actually is.

If the formation is not right, then that has to fall squarely on the shoulders of CH. If the formation is right, then the players are not good enough, yet this is his team.

Now I am not picking a fight or getting in to an argument, but either way, whatever is not quite right, is down to CH, one way of the other surely?

The way ahead is one up front, 4-4-2 is all but dead in the water, when we are going forward there are always options for one of the advanced mid-field to become a support striker which we see quite a bit from Howson and / or pilks!

Ok Dave but surely you can see the increasing need to start picking up points at home against teams like Cardiff?

It's not about blame, it's about the need to pick points up.

I can agree with all of that Kemp, but I don't see how it is Hughton's fault after 31 shots were produced, 9 on target. He can't score the goals. I still feel that it'll come right, but I also agree that it'll be a concern until it does. At the same time, we picked up a point on the 4 other teams from the bottom half of the table today. Cardiff was the only exception.

Good point about RVW. I didn't understand the Elmander substitution he's quite a physical player but we weren't struggling in that department against Cardiff, at times we looked like we needed a player to force the ball over the line, but our main problem was the clear cut chances and it was predictable what we'd do, Cardiff just crowded out their box. We need to be more surgical, I'd of liked to of seen Wes come on at some point as he would of at least got some half decent passes into the box.

Snodgrass never missed the pen. Guzan saved it. Benteke did the same thing on Saturday against Everton, maybe he should go to Leeds too? It's fair to say he needs to sharpen up his corner deliveries a lot but he works very hard for the team and his defensive contribution is under valued. Also, how can anyone accuse a manager of playing for a draw when their team mustered 30 shots on target?

I don't see any great mystery in why RvW wasn't brought on earlier -- his foot injury is still not fully mended and he was only on the bench for "last resort" use, which is what happened. <ok>
