    Nearly forgot!

You should have goaled the fella who ran on the pitch as the ref may have abandoned the match <laugh>

Sorry mate, but that's a ridiculous thing to say. We are most definitely not very grateful that you carry that burden and we certainly shouldn't be, given that the punishment also went well beyond just Liverpool to the whole country. I've honestly never heard something so unreasonable in this regard. That's like me getting a whole load of mates kicked out of a club and then telling them they should be grateful that I have to shoulder the burden of being thumped by the bouncer. No, Canary Rob, you shouldn't have been a twat in the first place

Actually, I think a point would do us nicely. It meams Fulham need four points to stay up (which admittedly they may well get, but they looked pretty poor against us and got very lucky with some good goalkeeping and the fact that we are rubbish). The problem is we are not even good at parking the bus, so it is unlikely.

I trust that you misinterpreted the meaning of what I was trying to say. My intention was to try and define that we and we alone have to carry the responsibility. I was further attempting to say that none of you have to carry that burden and we would not wish it on you. As for Norwich losing out on Europe then I can assure you that the country ban was imposed because of the behaviour of English football supporters in general. The extra ban on Liverpool was imposed directly as a result of what happened at Hysel.

If however you still feel that what I said was unreasonable then I can only say that you should consider your position on the issue more carefully.

Perhaps a sizeable chunk of your Champions League money next year could help heal the wound between the two clubs. You could maybe start a petition to do so, it might offload some of that burden you mention, you could finally look forward with a clean slate knowing your club has literally paid for the damage it caused us, Norwich who, unlike yourselves are not going to get many opportunities for European football.

It would be nice if your club considered that position carefully.

Why? What money did you actually lose - not how much MIGHT you have made. Plus if you really think that the legacy of Hysel is really financial then you are a very sad person.

Well as you can't reimburse the European experience then do you not think it fit to reimburse by other means.

Better still, give us all your players for a season so we can qualify.

The legacy of Heysel was that we lost the chance to add to our history, whilst your team still gets that opportunity, over and over again. I would never expect financial gain anyway as your club could not even muster an apology, show remorse or acknowledgement of what your club had done (and those things could be done for free)

To be honest, I don't think thats fair and it's the reason why I have very little time for Liverpool FC.

No one's arguing that these things are terrible terrible events but you come on talking about "burden" etc and it just sounds like such a load is woe is us pity our history and revelling in it.

Not trying to be rude but it's 2014 and it's a simple football match why bring up the past (I know we should never forget) it's as bad as the fookin binners coming on here going on and on about history. There's a time and a place and the match thread for the match in 2014 isn't (imho) the place for it with all due respect.

If you actually look back to Page 2 you'll find that I didn't bring up the topic of Hysel, a Norwich supporter did and I tried to answer his points.

To be honest nobody but us Redmen know what it is like to live with the 'guilt' so you actually have no idea.

I tried to be honest and open in what I said but I see that such honesty is lost on some of you so I'll not visit again.

I think its for the best. We don't want you to put your back out carrying all that burden over here. You just go back to your magical European nights at Anfield and forget about us.

Well, I don't see how you have received any abuse, your club perhaps, and your general focus on the effect of Heysel on yourselves has not come across particularly well.

Like I say, we were denied a rare opportunity, you don't seem to appreciate that.
