The lads on newstalk last night said that we all fear the worst, so anything less than the worst is a bonus.

Right now, I feel exactly that.....although I know that my mindset will completely change as the game kicks off.

It will be absolute carnage if Trap plays the same formation against the Spanish. It will be carnage unless we can put 5 midfielders in there to get in the way. I don't mean Doyle dropping off, I mean 5 midfielders. Even if it is Hunt playing inside left or Gibson sitting in there, it is the only way to get at this team.

    4-4-2 and we get shpanked.

    Thoughts and prayers?

Play Waters or Cox up front with a 5 man midfield and we might scrape a draw.
I hope McClean gets a game. He's too good to leave out

I doubt Spain have got more than a couple of goals in them. When you go back to the 2010 WC they scored 8 goals in 7 games and won 4 games by 1-0.

Everyone raves about Spain but I actually find them quite boring.

Netherlands have lost two, yet could still qualify, not beyond bounds of reason.

Sadly that lifeline is not available to us, we have to get something out of this game.

We'll have to play like QPR did against ManC, and keep it up until the 96th minute.

Can we do it? Of course it's possible but highly unlikely TBH.

There is always hope, that we will never give up on.

    COYBIG!!

Rumours that Doyle will be dropped and Cox will play instead of him. Im not sure about Cox he looks ok but for me Long is better than him and I dont know why Trapp is such a fan of the Cox <whistle>

I've £10 on at 10/1. In the bookies in Swansea, the man looked at me like I was mad. He said ''Feeling Lucky?'' So I told him I wasn't, but last night Trap told me in a dream he was bringing Roy Keane, Bonner, McGrath and Irwin out of retirement for the match.

He gave me an even stranger look and asked was I sure I wanted to do this?

I said ''Yes, If you can't believe in your country, who can you believe in?''

He told me he was Half Scottish, and he never believed in either of his countries. Which I thought was fair enough.

Cox shouldnt even be in the squad, never mind start up front in our biggest game in ten years, never mind start in bloody midfield in our biggest game in ten years...

Trap is clueless if he doesnt play with 3 central midfielders!

three midfielders. One up top. Either Doyle or Walters. Work their bollocks off. and swap one for the other if things are going well.

Tell them they're high, deluded, pissed or retarded.

    Bonus points for a combo.

I think Ireland's odds were 14/1 ( that might be the final score - if Spain score an own goal )

"You'll never beat the Irish, You'll never beat the Ir.......****"

I really don't like it when we sing that. I remember the play off against Turkey when the pub started up with it.....Turkey scored straight away afterwards.

Too easy, just allowed Torres to score, disappointing especially after Dunne's great tackle

    Cracking finish though wasn't it.

Aside from that these runs they are making all over are fantastic. We play caveman football by comparison.
