Son, when I tell you to laugh at one of my comments you can laugh. Until then keep yer smileys in yer pocket
Celtic have been ****e so far in the league, not convincing at all. I hope yeez keep it up and Hearts and Dundee Utd can give you a wee fright.
A lot of them played with injuries in the CL. Even if Helsingborgs were poor there was a lot of emotional energy spent. I guess it is easy for me to accept these performances from in front of my computer screen but the guys at the ground maybe not so much. Although maybe they get the point of the exercise and like seeing Celtic nurtured talent get a chance. I think we have a more sophisticated support than we did when sideyways passes were met with derision. I think that maybe after a while we'll look at these performances as part of the learning curve.
I agree Rebel, I was happy enough to see young Watt getting another run out, but there were just too many changes, and as i said before the game, it was a strange line up. Commons was really the only one on the bench to try and change it if it didn`t work.
I daresay Neil Lennon will have something to say to the players about that second half performance - all very well giving young players opportunities but if they don't grasp them they won't get many more. We missed too many chances with players having little or no composure. Can't really blame him for experimenting today - he'll be as disappointed and frustrated as any of us. I'm sure he'll not (at least hopefully he'll not) make that mistake too often.
We have had a run of bad luck with the injuries, I agree. But when it comes to the point of having two teenagers as your central midfield it exposes how thin the squad is right now. I'm very happy to see the younger players coming through and given that our former closest rivals are dead we should be developing them more in the league. But, it won't do them or us any good if they aren't playing alongside more experience players. In fact, putting them out there to get walked on might do them more harm than anything else.
Brown, Ledley, Kayal all injured. Wanyama is only a kid himself, although a huge player for us. I don't know who could have stood up to the task of talking people through the game. Possibly Paddy should have grabbed a hold of the game a bit more
Lennon says as far as he is concerned the mystery striker is still on his way.......who knows. Also, Victor has been playing with a deid leg......shows how short we are.
Good point - young/inexperienced players need to be 'blooded' alongside experienced players although seemingly today we had a lot of injured players out so the set-up was maybe one of necessity rather than experimentation? In saying that, though, the senior players who did feature didn't exactly cover themselves in glory.
Game should have been wrapped up by half time today. Looked half asleep in 2nd half, and Hibs deserved a point based on how ****e we were for the 2nd 45. Sorely missing someone with a wee bit of experience for situations like that where the team and crowd are getting nervous.
Hibs are utter gash. Utd humped them 3-0. I'm not calling for anyone's heads or screaming for blood, I'm saying a home draw against them is pish. That's not an OTT response. 15,000 empty seats today. Watching the reserves draw against last season's second worst team is not exactly an enticement for bigger crowds.
Exactly. We deserve to be told why we have had these Draconian socks forced upon our players. You could see it in the body language of the players how unloved an unwanted the socks are. Wnyama dead leg? Nope, I'm a trained lip reader and I could clearly see him say to Lenny "What is the ****ing score with these minging socks Boss? **** theese for a gemme of sojers". When he refused to play, Commons hand no choice but to come on and it was clear he was less than happy with the socks, he spent 15 minutes at least, adjusting them at the tops and trying to fold them down a bit so they were less black. Twardik and Irvine both looked like rabbits caught in the glare of black socks. And is it any coincidence that Stokes has been "Injured" since Nike forced these affronts onto us? I don't think he's injured at all, he has Blacksockitis.
It is very rare that a combination of words has never been used before in the history of mankind....I think you might just have done it.
Its difficult to know, better to ask this question at some time other than within ten minutes of end, to give the supporters a chance to answer.
