No he probobably wont, but if beckford plays as bad as he did against forrest or forced to the wing, then surely vassell is a better option to bring on.
Vassell or Schlupp for me, ones on his way up, the other on the way down. Both are impact strikers at most atm. Wouldn't surprise me if Vass didnt get a contract extension though.
I think there are better options out there and i expect us to let him go. We need strikers who can score goals or at least create goals. Vassell doesnt do it and Howard no longer does it. Both should be let go at the end of the season We can find better players
If hes played in the right position ... striker ... pressed upto the last defender ... creating space for King/Nuge/Beckford to break through ... then i would keep him. Svens bad use of him on the wing has probably soured alot of foxes fans.
But if we play him up front he wont score enough goals. He has never scored goals in his career. Is he a better option then Nugent, Beckford, Waghorn or Schlupp?
Id have subbed beckford for vassell on tuesday without a second though, and the team would have been improved.
He won't score many goals, but a team around him will score more. I just hope NP has a good look at him before his contract runs out, because he could goto another playoff contender and do really well.
We needed a goal so you would bring on Vassell? Beckford scores goals and Vassell doesnt. If Vassell added goals to his game he would be in the prem still. If he played all season up front i doubt he would hit double figures. As a player he is very good but he lacks the killer instinct weather its shooting or crossing. At times i have questioned his desire to score a goal. Playing on the wing or up front he score 4 goals last season which i find pathetic. We had Kyle Naughton at right back scoring more goals then him. You win games by scoring goals. If Beckford had Vassell's work rate then we would have some player though
its all good saying you need a goal so why bring him on, but if you have a team of natural poachers and no service you wont score. A team of michael owens is useless if nothing is to poach. In that game vassel would get the ball and run, whereas beckford did nothing.
Dyer doesn't offer enough service. He just seems to create space for other players as his pace scares the crap out of everyone. I prefer Beckford and Schlupp to vassel. We dont need anymore fast strikers we need another striker who is good in the air and can hold the play up. Not neccessarily a target man though.
