Apparently it's Catalan not Matalan, you learn something every day, and they are French not Spanish which adds to the confusion

Only if you're an idiot, that part of France was once part of the Principality of Catalonia before it became the Pyrenees-Orientales. They still speak Catalan and is referred to by most as northern Catalonia.

Oh dear.

Just read paper and it says att. last night was 6,768.
Weather- Cold, drizzly
Entertainment 7/10
Arf! A half empty stadium on a cold drizzly night where the home team gets hammered out of sight in an utterly one-side game , with no visiting fans, yet it's still so merits a 7?
How much would a Thursday Afternoon League Crown Green Bowling game on Costello get on that scale?

We're you entertained when we beat Charlton 6-0? That was utterly one sided but I'm sure many people enjoyed it.

Which then begs the question, Why don't Matalan sponsor them, that way they could be Matalan Catalan.:emoticon-0125-mmm:
Haha they should, maybe there are no Matalans in Cataland and that puts them off, shouldn't really as there are plenty of Matalans in the M62 Eggchaser corridor

It says Off Topic.

If you don't want to comment then leave the thread alone.

There's a thread on Star Wars FFS, I haven't looked at it because;

A. My surname isn't Nerdstrom.

B. I, like most grown ups, couldn't give less of a **** about Star Wars.

C. I'm over 7 years of age.

D. I could go on.

Has anyone banged on about that being 'on the wrong board' or said 'who cares'?

Double standards.

IMO.

The 7/10 in the paper is not a rating on how much the home fans enjoyed the game, it's a rating on how entertaining the game was.

He made the point it wasn't an entertaining game because it's one sided, you've just proved my point that one sided games can be entertaining.

I'm pretty sure the HKR reporter is looking to represent the views of HKR fans. When Phil Buckingham writes about a terrible result on Tuesday do you think he was writing as a neutral and Derby fans were up in arms cos it was a great result?

[QUOTE="tubbylard, post: 9113793, member: 1022928". A record score for a Cup Final which beat Wigan 38 Hull RLFC, as they were called in those days, 5 . Which beat Wakefield 30 something, Hull RLFC a lot less. Over to you 5hitty arse....[/QUOTE]

I was at both these Wembley games so remember the scores. Wigan 30 Hull 13 in 1959 and Wakefield 38 Hull 5 in 1960. So a correction there.

In 1999 Leeds beat London Broncos 52-16 so this remains the record number of points scored by the winning team in a CC final and a points winning margin of 36 which makes your assertion about Hull's record earlier in post No 11 factually incorrect.

No he's giving his opinion on how entertaining the game was. My point was that a game can be entertaining even if its one sided, which you've already agreed with.

I don't think you have to be an idiot not to know that mate

I suppose it depends how well travelled you are, most people know either side of the Pyrenees is considered Catalan territory. You soon find out when you go there thinking a basic grasp of Spanish will get you through and they start speaking what sounds like a completely different language.

Is it true that RL took off there after Eddie Waring and Stuart Hall were there for 'Jeux sans frontieres'?
