Shergy , go ask stick, TopClass, redcgull You can call me Jeff or any of those lads on the betting forums and they will tell you what I am. You are making yourself look silly tbh. You are on the wind up if you say you ran a bookies and didn't know your each way golf betting systems.
Half the bet finished 2nd and half 3rd. None of the bet finished outside the places. So the full bets a winner
It makes no sense to me why the punters on the tied 2nd guys get punished, I could understand, if Spieth won and there were 5 tied for 2nd and 2 tied for 3rd and the guys on the 2 tied for 3rd were punished as the guys tied for 3rd would actually be tied for 7th, but that it pays out the top 7, why would the winner and 5 ties for 2nd have anything to do with it?
Scroll down to bottom of the General Betting board until you see "help with golf bet' it's complicated stuff to be fair which is why Shergy is struggling but I dissected one there for some guy about 2 year ago. I can't be arsed typing out what would be a long explanation of the system here.
And as Mick said the bookies have golf backers by the balls unless you bag a clear place on your own. Any ties are very damaging to payouts.
Trust me on this, STH has no clue what he is on about. His example of the rules is for players tied 5th. And in most golf tournaments the each way terms are first 5. So yes ties for 5th would get penalised in his scenario. But a 2 way tie for 2nd will not get penalised. I know with 100% certainty that I am right and he is wrong
Found out years ago, think I backed Darren Clarke @35/1 EW,he came 2/3rd but tied with 3 or 4 others and me marching up to bookies expecting a decent payout on the Monday but then it became Kafkaesque with DHs,I felt like I owed the bookies money!
That's because it was in a 4 way tie for 3rd. So a quarter of your bet lost, and 3 quarters of it won. STH is saying I will get penalised on a 2 way tie for 2nd. Which is complete nonsense
I think I'd rather trust what I know than trust what is written on the general betting board by you lot. I've run my own shop, you guys are just punters
Well my bet on Dustin Johnson is probably the only golf bet I have ever put on and if the bookies are going to treat the punters so shabbily for a tie even if they are well in the top 7, they can kiss my next 20 goodbye and watch their profits plummet. That'll teach the ****s!
Your some thick Shergar. I had Mickelson too and was due a 130 payout but will only get 65 due to his Tied 2nd. If he was 2nd or 3rd on his own I would have got 130. Pointless talking to you anyway. You know everything
You will get penalised a 3rd of your cash as Dustin Johnson finished in a 3 way tie for 6th. So if you got first 7 places, only 2 thirds of your bet won
No I won't, I had him to win outright! But I have to say, I agree with the way you are working out, as that is the logical way I have thought they work it out, otherwise it doesn't make sense, to me anyway.
You'll be glad that I am right, as you'll get paid out in full on the place money for Mickelson. You'll see when you go to collect Arguing with me about betting rules is like arguing with Carol Vorderman about Maths
I'm afraid to tell you but he's right well in Powers but online it may differ.Another pitfall of golf betting is once ties come into play the places move down ie McIlroy was 4th,3 players were tied 6th so the next player was 9th Mahan
