Not sure if this slipped under the radar or whether people are fed up with reading about past NH heroes tipping up for the last time.
Master Oats this morning sadly died at the age of 28.
He won his Gold Cup by a wide margin, very probably the widest since Arkle (someone I'm sure can confirm), he also won a Welsh National that season and needed bottomless ground to be seen at his best which was duly delivered come Gold Cup day.
He also ran well in a couple of Grand Nationals.
A top class performer.
RIP
 
Good 'oss Grizzly, remember him vividly ploughing through the mud to leave Dubacilla and Minnehoma toiling in his wake in the Gold Cup. RIP fella
