thanks very much Ron. i didn't know war of attrition had stem cell surgery (the return to hurdles chaser who then came 2nd in a chase on his last run before retirement, although i'm not sure when he had the treatment). i'll be interested to see how china rock gets on next race, gold cup or not. some treatment advances are quite incredible really. the back of my mind is wondering how it feels post-treatment for the horse or if it tries to look after it thereafter, even in a race.
