I’d still love a better striker than Bamford. I just don’t want to see him walk on a free and a better Bamford is out of our current price range

Not sure how many are aware of the financial changes to La Liga? Basically a new company has been formed which is really a hedge fund, and this hedge fund took out a huge loan to hand out guaranteed cash to each club. The new company will take control of all TV rights deals and any negotiations with anyne. The new business would have control of La Liga for 50 years.

Only 2 clubs voted against it and they are Barcelona and Real Madrid. Real Madrid are now angling to join the Premier League! And lets not forget that these 2 clubs plus 3 in Italy are still part of the group for the Super League and that company still exists and hasnt been wound up which goes against UEFA ruling, but watch what doesnt happen….. Real Madrid in the Prem?

Its taken me 18 hours to log onto this site after yesterdays match. Looking forward to it so much and had the heart ripped out. The problem was we started last season against Liverpool and scared the crap out if them, even though we lost. This time we were smashed again at OT and had to see pundits gobbing off about how great they were and just how bad we were. BBC sports site were loving it …… time to come from behind the settee and face up to it. We had our moments in the first half and in fairness going in 3-2 at HT would have been fair. Can imagine a tough week for the lads and Bielsa will have hated that. Opening day blues happens and we saw Villa smashed even after spending big money. It will be ok but wish we had another game today to start settling my nerves

Ruins your entire weekend doesn’t it. For me, there was zero to take out of that game, I can’t find an ounce of positivity, that’s never happened before watching a Bielsa Leeds team, I think it’s because it’s the first game of a new season.

Also I was hoping I was just being negative and that those feeling top 6 was possible were right. Instead my adjusted target is just don’t get relegated, 10th feels out of the question at the moment. Like you I need our next game to come and some points on the board.

I’m a bit fearful that Rodrigo and Klich are going to have a poor season, you just know Bielsa is going to drop Rodrigo for Roberts but then is that a good thing? It should be Rodrigo or Bamford. I’m annoyed Bielsa never thought it was game over at 5-1 and throw a debut to Summerville instead of Costa. I’m going to “try” and refrain from commenting on yesterday’s game for the rest of the day after this post, I need to put it behind me.

In regards to commentary, Twitter was alight regarding the prick Ferdinand and his fist pumping a Man U player as he walked past, Humphrey was talking about Leeds and Rio ignored him and started gushing about Man U after already praising them for several minutes.

I thought we were poor yesterday, terrible marking for the goals. But as you all love it when I start quoting xg, <laugh> I thought I’d get in early this season with a few comparables.

    man u 5 (xg 1.64) Leeds 1 (xg 0.57)

    Last year
    Man U 6 (4.78) Leeds 2 ( 1.63)

    Liverpool 4 (3.25) Leeds 3 (0.27)

We smash and grabbed our goals at Liverpool last year… and we conceded loads more chances at old toilet last year.

yesterday they were ruthlessly efficient with the chances they had.

    Don’t shoot the messenger <cheers>

    ferdinand’s a cnut,

you do seem overly pessimistic to me fella. The top 4 are a cut above, there’s another 2-3 who on paper should be the chasing pack, but might not be. After that anything is possible.

Leeds Utd dont have any players besides Phillips who could get into the teams of Chelsea, Man Utd, Man City and Liverpool. Arguments for Raphinha and Rodrigo but for those 2 to play well they need the rest of the team to play well too. Our battles are with every team outside the top 4

their away record was great last season but we shut them down at Elland road. It seemed to me that we were a bit more conservative, and more successful for it, later in the season, but it showed we can do it.

everyone else who goes to old Trafford is happy to contain them… we try to go head to head and they have bigger guns.

Reports suggesting Leeds will make an improved offer for O'brien after yesterday's embarrassment. Huddersfield want 10 million, Leeds will go back in with 5-7 million bid.

Also Nandez move to Inter seems to have broken down and door is back open if we wanted to pursue it. 30 million required.

The thing with O’Brien is we don’t believe he is worth the fee. Apparently we offered £3m made up of add ons then went back with £3m up front. This valuation of ours suggests he isn’t being considered for the first team.

Radz is back and he met with Bielsa at the training ground, according to Phil Hay Bielsa is happy with the squad and just asked for more changes to the training ground

What's the thing with the scousers and the homophobic chants ?

Is it because Gilmour is on loan, hence being rented out or something else ?

Liverpool fans best in the world remember, @Sucky to confirm.

Tammy Abrams earning £5m per year NET in Rome with a £40m transfer deal agreed, done. Black man in Rome means plenty of racial abuse, but for £5m per year I could live with it

Still early days but I've yet to see anything other than a decent championship standard defender in Robin Koch. @milkyboy has posted along similar lines but does anyone else see a top defender or defensive midfielder emerging once he gets more games under his belt ?

The comments from Bielsa makes you think it must be your first time watching football. He said he was dynamic, played well, got into the correct positions in attack and defence. I agree with everything hes said about Phillips, Rodrigo, Llorente so I have to go along with him for now.

First game and yet again no Phillips no decent performance. Phillips made a difference late on, so would he have made a difference from the start, maybe. Nobody had a good game in the 2nd half and justice may have even been 1-1 at half time.

Before his knee injury last year he was either the best player on the pitch or the worst player on the pitch.

I know he got slated for yesterday but he was totally outnumbered and exposed by his midfield colleagues. He actually did OK at times but such was the quality running at him I'm not sure what else he could have done. Phillips may have fared better but not too much.

In summary, there is a player in there somewhere but it needs to be more consistent.
