Nobody outside the courtroom is deciding anything that matters. But they're allowed to deliberate on their thoughts about it, whether you agree with them or not.

It doesn't matter what the comment implied. I didn't read it in that way. Judge someone on the actual words they've written, not how you're choosing to interpret what they might mean.

As for this case, it's certainly strange behaviour from the witness. It doesn't necessarily mean anything at all, but it certainly casts a shadow of doubt on her testimony.
