Anyone been watching Big Match Revisited on ITV4? Showing the mid 70’s seasons. And BT Sport showing the 78-79 season.

Only one City game so far; 2-1 win at Sunderland in 1979.

How did they play football on those mud baths in 1975-6?

Plenty of ex and future City players on show - Micky Burns, Paul Went, Ade Alston, Doug Livermore, Dave Roberts, Jeff Hemmerman, Andy McCullough, Alan Foggon, Mike England, Alan Campbell, Keith Robson, Colin Sullivan, Billy Ronson, Leighton Phillips etc

I vaguely remember going to Ninian with my Dad and Uncle as a young lad in the 50s but can’t remember anything about the games, just the amazement of being a part of the massive crowd. The first match I clearly remember was the opening day of 62/63 season. We’d just been relegated from the old First Division and the great Ivor Allchurch was making his debut for us . . . against the club who’d just transferred him, Newcastle United. It was a 4-4 draw and such a great game to convince a ten year old lad that he’d be back for more! Roll on the day when we can once again watch our team in the flesh.

Totally agree with this one BS pal, Masky was there too, to witness Ivor’s debut...what a game. On the same day, my all time city favourite Peter Hooper made his debut, arguably the most exciting and dangerous city played of all. A thunderous left footed rocket, who went on to score 22 goals that season...more ferocious than John Buchanan I’d say! :emoticon-0103-cool: William5551 for sale...open to offers!

First game would have been early 80's for me but can't recall who it was against.

I have a vague feeling it may have been Palace but can't be sure.

Used to go down with some mates and wait till after half time when they'd open up the Bob Bank gates and we could wander in for free.

Started going as a paying regular from 84 onwards. Terrible times for the club really... I recall being jealous of the likes of Tranmere and Exeter etc. whilst we kicked about towards the bottom end of Division 4.

Certainly makes me grateful for the things I have seen us achieve.
Never thought I'd see us in 2 major cup finals or the top flight.
Think maybe that's why I'm quite content with us being a half decent Championship team.
