Actually there’s nothing wrong with VAR. It’s just that we’ve replaced **** refereeing on the pitch with **** refereeing in a booth. Goal line technology works fine because no human analysis is involved- the rest will always be a bit subjective.
So sorry for your loss LL. Like many of us, my dad introduced me to Saints. I lost him in 1987 and I still have moments when I really, painfully miss him even now. It does get easier though, and rest assured you’ll have times when you’ll smile and reflect just how much your dad would have enjoyed a particular game, or a goal, or something about Saints.
Yeah, I went to pick up the phone loads post race events, and then remembered. It does get better though. Promise.
I lost my mother in 2007, it get easier, but never goes away. As I am sure I have bored you all on here, the was Italian and the first thing I did in 2006 literally 20 seconds after they lifted the World Cup was call her (I was in Tenerife on holiday at the time). She wasnt a great football fan, but when it came to the national team she was. Whenever she watched a game and the Italian National Anthem was played before the game she would sing it out loud and cry. I know I will have those memories again in the Euros this year, but I now smile when I think of them, rather than feel sadness. Strangely, I felt sad last night I couldn't call her to say Italy won the Eurovision! Life is strange, but it gets better. You won't get over it, but as others have said it eases. Sorry to hear of your loss, and I hope we can give you a bit of cheer on here sometimes.
Not at all... it stands as a legacy to Tory corruption... another party with a proper plan for its use afterwards would’ve been much better, one that would benefit the local community, one that wouldn’t disadvantage the average working person financially more after the Olympics... I may hugely be in the minority but I genuinely don’t think Saints fans would’ve snapped anyone’s hands off if we were in the same position. It suited Gold and Sullivan’s narrative all round, a new stadium for virtually free leaving them free to spend, spend, spend while taxpayers fund the installation of new beer lines because Hammers fans didn’t like the options they had when they inherited the stadium. Saints are a community club and I’d hate it if we sold out in the same way West Ham did.
Cheers glad it gets easier. Bloody coronavirus, I was hoping to take my son to his first match with my dad, but it was not to be.
Anyone know if we did? Seems Like Big Ern got everything else he wanted from the game. Sayonara 2021 season, don't let the door hit you in the arse on your way out. Congrats to everyone here for making it this far in the game, this has been a tough year in every conceivable way. At least next year the Alien tic tac invasion will be more interesting than a boring old virus. Maybe they like football. And hate VAR. Could turn out great.
That might have been a bit obscure but its all over the internet. The Pentagon declassified an encounter and basically came out and said its probable that Aliens are real and that they likely pose a security threat.
1, clear out Inc Redmond, McCarthy, the loanees 2, 're-invest 3, re-think on tactics 4, utilise pre season 5, fans back, start again Enjoy the euros.
It feels worse in some respects because we have seen how good Saints can be this season. I think we need a comprehensive re-build. The likes of Redmond, McCarthy, Stephens,Valery, Forster, Elynoussi,Lemina, Djenepo and the academy players who have not made the grade need to be moved on. I would also be inclined to take anything any of the larger clubs offer for Vesterggard to help fill the coffers. If I am honest, there probably needs to be about 10-15 players who I would be inclined to move on. I don't see what Minamino offers and , to be honest, think Walcott has been lucky to get a contract for next season. I have not seen enough of Diallo to have formed a proper opinion of him either. I would like to see Ralph given some money to reconstruct a decent first eleven. As i have said, the basis of the squad is decent . The problem for me as the lack of depth and the fact that the quality is not being produced by the academy.
Another loan for Sims beckons. SFC might well have to pay off the contracts of these ex-academy players, who have not quite made the grade, to enable them to find a club that meets their level and new club's expectations.
cant say I disagree with any of that Ian. I also think it’s as likely to happen as my alien invasion jibe. we will move on the big money - whatever that means now - players, likely Ings jWP and Vesty the rest are likely to be on the shelf till the newly promoted teams get desperate. We might move a couple out then toward the end of the window. Then we will loan in a couple of players who aren’t good enough for someone else’s 1st 11 and make do just as we have for years. I may be jaded though and simply regurgitating the same post from 2018, 2019 and 2020. Prove me wrong saints, prove me so very wrong.
