Why do we need anyone else up front. MM has made his bed, he should perservere with Gestede, Mason and Veronika, football fans amaze me at times, why pay out another 2.5 mill for a player we dont really need, Maynard back in light training so theres another 2m plus on the sidelines. In business you have to draw the line somewhere. Its a defender of 2 we need to get us over the final hurdle.

Sometimes you have to gamble for the greater rewards on offer. Maynard is crocked and won't be back this season, Gestede is a trier but that's about it, Veliconia (spelling) doesn't exist and Mason although a decent prospect, is not a viable alternative targetman, something this team is crying out for over 90 minutes.

I hope we manage to persuade Cam from Stoke on a rest of the season loan.

Got to agree with ITI. Signing the right man would see us going from even money to odds on favourites for auto.

Sordell isn't a target man but more in the style of Maynard and with the service from our midfield and wingers his pace and ability to run the channels will frighten most Championship defences to death.

However a quality target man would also do the business and create more opportunities for Bellamy at al.

Bloody hell, that makes us clear favourites by a long way.

The only horse race I ever watch is the Grand National and I always keep an eye out for the horse in 4th or 5th place about 6 fences from home. The horse is usually on the inside rail and keeping pace with the leaders ready to make a burst for the front with only 1 or 2 fences to go. In a similar vein to Sparkey's thread a couple of weeks ago, I wonder who that horse would be in the Championship? It is unusual for the leading horse at half way to win but there is always an exception to disprove the rule.

    BfB!
I think the Saints were top at this stage last season and came in runners up, a point behind Reading. I think I could take the pain of second. <ok>

Agreed ITI and Reading were the team who came through on the rails from a long way back.

Bolton have signed Craid Davies from Barnsley.

Was that the trigger that releases Sordell. Stand by for an announcement...........<whistle>

    Okay.......waiting.

Good move for Davies as they like big lumps for centre forwards at Bolton. He has a fair degree of skill too.

Mind you Leeds are worried that Becchio could be on his way maybe to a Prem club but who knows.....could be an aspiring Prem club. Now he could do a good job for us and really p1$$ off Leeds fans if he came to us.

    Wouldn't it just!

Becchio would seem to fit the bill at this level - not sure about the next one though (if we get there).

I suppose the point is we could worry about that at the time. This is all about now.

Mind you, he would say that wouldn't he - it was for the ears of the Bolton fans. Just usual hype.

I doubt he'd have said "I really wanted to go to Cardiff, but my agent said Bolton would be better for me".
