Is the title of a tv drama based on the real life of " Nello ".

It is being shown tomorrow , Thursday 25th , and has strong connections with Stoke City F.C.

It stars Toby Jones , a Stoke fan and son of Freddie ( Emmerdale )

It's a must watch.

Read about it on Cris / Tenterden's thread.
Thanks for the reminder <cheers>

Watching it now. It's making me hoot with laughter and I realise that he used to live opposite me in the Thistleberry area! I had no idea.

A programme that lived up to it's name. Credit to all involved, in particular Nello and Lou Macari.

It was...MARVELLOUS

One of many fantastic lines...on explaining his autograph book, his bible...Neil explains to the vicar, bishops at the front and clergy at the back. "I've got Desmond Tutu, Rowan Williams and Jimmy Greenhoff!!.

You could not make up his story.

Nello at the Job Centre

"I want to be a vicar or a football manager, preferrably Stoke City. If not Stoke I'm not bothered but I'll draw the line at Port Vale"

Priceless

It was one of the most lovely things I have watched. I had an as strong an emotional response to it as I did to the book 'Tie me to the Mast' about the season we got promoted. Love being a Stokie.

Or..."Gary Linaker is the President of my football club. I will write to him tomorrow and te him"

Indeed Zoz...it is an oft overused word. But not in this case.

Fantastic,my wife ,who hates football, and who I had to cajole into watching it ,loved it and was moved to tears when his mum died. Toby Jones was fantastic, and well done Lou Macari ,not forgetting Lineker and Uriah Rennie .As Zoz says, nello is a legend. One last word. Well done to Malcolm, what a great friend he turned out to be:emoticon-0100-smile

Well If any of you do not know he also attended the inaugeration of teh Archbishop of Canterbury.

Also parents at Keele have been searching him out to get an autograph and he has already 8 new signings for his team. He is taking them to Cambridge Univeristy over a weekend in November and Uriah Reniie has agreed to referee!

Nello is also being presented to the crowd on Monday night.

It seems that this thread gets more hits than the one I created but will post on both!
